How to tame Immortals Fenyx Rising Pegasus and where to locate him

In Immortals Fenyx Rising, Pegasus is the only horse you actually want to ride around the Golden Isles on. Consider it. Even if you are very connected to riding the first stag you tamed, it only has four stamina chunks and, to be honest, isn't magical or legendary enough to merit your status as a demigod.

The game Immortals Fenyx Rising makes its living on recounting ancient stories and tales. Zeus pretends to be your inebriated uncle over the holidays, telling you one stupid joke after another. You're about to prevent a new Titan Typhon from destroying the planet. There are several familiar faces wandering the landscape in different forms, like Medusa and Herakles (light spoilers ahead). As we said in our Immortals Fenyx Rising Switch review, humor apart, we had a great time with the game. Riding a horse worthy of the mythology you are creating is thus only fitting.

The offspring of Medusa and Poseidon isn't technically in the game. On the other hand, there is a legendary horse with wings that is almost identical to Pegasus. It's really named Laurion, and it's a horse with wings. We're content enough. But finding Pegasus is tough, and taming him is probably much harder.

Immortals Fenyx Rising: How to Get Pegasus

Where is Pegasus located?

Return to the Clashing Rocks where you had your first instruction with Hermes to locate Pegasus. From the monument of the Messenger of the Gods, go south to the little archipelago you missed while becoming acquainted.

Before moving on, note that the summits of these high islands are home to some very formidable foes. Arm yourself with lots of potions to combat them (for more information, see our Immortals Fenyx Rising crafting guide). The voyage is difficult, with armored Cyclops and armies of Typhon's finest warriors to contend with.

The largest island in the archipelago, which is also the game's southernmost point, is where you should go. There are two islands on this big one, and you should go to the smaller one towards the northeast. The simplest path is to glide from one island peak to another, but you'll have to engage in several battles while doing so. It's possible to swim from the mainland to the base of this island if you have a lot of patience and stamina potions.

You must descend to the beach at the bottom of the island after arriving. Pegasus is located here, between the waves and sea foam. Keep searching the beach until you see him, but stay away from it. As he is initially a bit of a scaredy-cat, you will need to use extreme caution when trying to tame Pegasus.

How to tame Pegasus

Although taming Pegasus is not a simple undertaking, here are some pointers to get you started:

  • Crouch using the A button, and edge towards the winged horse slowly
  • If you see a red exclamation point above Pegasus’ head, stop immediately
  • Only continue your careful approach once the exclamation point disappears
  • Repeat this until you are next to the mythical beast
  • When prompted, press X to tame Pegasus and mount him.

With twelve stamina chunks to his name, Pegasus is more than fit to travel the Golden Isles on horseback. He seems like a fittingly legendary comrade for your great adventure.
