Theoretical movie release date for Dead by Daylight

The release date for Blumhouse's Dead By Daylight film has not yet been announced. In March 2023, the corporation made its first announcement that a Dead By Daylight movie will be made. Other than that, there is no indication as to when it would be released.

Nevertheless, on January 1, 2024, Collider released a short discussion of the Dead By Daylight film in an interview with Ryan Turek, vice president of Blumhouse. Curiously, he also emphasises how it has been affected by the FNAF movie release date:

"I will mention that Dead by Daylight, a video game adaption of a game that has been around for, like, seven years, is one of the projects that I'm working on. That strikes me as the video game itself celebrating terror. Obviously, the lesson from Five Nights at Freddy's is to cater to the fans and create a video game adaption that they will like. I love Dead by Daylight so much. [...] I'm very thrilled about that one, and we're thinking of inventive ways to approach it.

Given that Blumhouse is still "creatively mulling around what the way into it is," it is likely that the movie will take a while to release. We have great expectations for this new horror movie, however, since Turek is "active" on the project and a huge fan of the game.

Who is composing music for the film Dead by Daylight?

Game maker Behaviour Interactive is collaborating with horror powerhouse Blumhouse and James Wan's Atomic Monster television business to bring the Dead By Daylight movie to life.

We're particularly interested to see what fun scares are in store since legendary contemporary horror filmmakers James Wan and Jason Blum are managing such a well-known horror game adaption. Apparently, we're not alone. Executive vice president of Behaviour Interactive Stephen Mulrooney said in a Variety story dated 2023 that he was "thrilled to work with Jason Blum and James Wan, two giants of the horror film industry, to further expand the 'Dead by Daylight' universe." [...]Our mission at Behaviour is to create unforgettable memories that last a lifetime. Blumhouse and Atomic Monster are the perfect collaborators to create "Dead by Daylight's" jaw-dropping big-screen premiere.

James Wan discusses the subject in the same piece, saying this: "The Behaviour team's 'Dead by Daylight' is a love letter to the horror genre, creating an amazing environment full of atmosphere and terrifying villains — perfect for a scary cinematic adaptation." At Atomic Monster, we're huge fans of the game and are excited to be working with Blumhouse to bring this horrifyingly graphic universe to the big screen.

To elaborate, Blumhouse CEO and founder Jason Blum says, "We think it's imperative we find someone who appreciates and loves the world as much as we do, to help us bring the game to the big screen. We know there are so many fans of 'Dead by Daylight' out there." [...]We are certain that Atomic Monster and Behaviour, our partners, will assist us in creating the greatest possible version of this game.

As of right now, we are aware that Wan, Blum, and Stephen Mulrooney are the film's producers. Remi Racine of Behaviour Interactive, Michael Clear and Judson Scott of Atomic Monster, Ryan Turek of Blumhouse, and Russell Binder of Striker Entertainment are serving as executive producers.
