Jennifer Hale comments on the debate surrounding Bayonetta 3

Granted, Hellena Taylor turned down a lowball deal from Platinum Games to play the Umbra Witch in Bayonetta 3 on the Nintendo Switch, and as a result, the company is facing a lot of criticism right now. The voice actor recently came out to clarify that Platinum is only willing to provide $4k, a price that both she and many others find "insulting," particularly considering how important a role she plays in the fandom's enduring appeal.

Platinum did not choose to pay the VA a wage commensurate with her value after Taylor rejected the offer. Rather, the part belongs to Jennifer Hale from Bayonetta 3, who hasn't addressed the matter until lately. She is regarded as one of the most renowned voice actresses in the industry and fervently believes that individuals should be compensated fairly for their abilities.

"As a longtime member of the voice acting community, I support every actor's right to be paid well and have advocated consistently for this for years," Hale said in a statement posted on Twitter. I have a tremendous deal of respect for my colleagues, and anybody who knows me or has followed my career would know that I stand up for everyone in the community.

Hale goes on, "I'm not allowed to talk about this since I'm under an NDA. My track record is quite self-explanatory.

We believe that Hale learned of Taylor's treatment at the same time as the rest of the world, based on her remark and overall demeanor. In addition, the tone of her statement makes it clear that she disagrees with it, but she is unable to express her views since she is bound by an NDA.

Though Taylor urges people to boycott the game, she does urge fans to continue playing it, and based on Bayonetta 3 fan reactions, it's safe to conclude that opinions within the community are divided over what should be done in this situation. Hale concluded by saying, "I hope that everyone involved may resolve their differences in an amicable and respectful way," and we wholeheartedly concur.
