Is the smartphone game Puyo Puyo Quest now undergoing localization?
This week, Sega has fans on tenterhooks since it has shown some English-language advertisements for Puyo Puyo Quest on X. We're not sure what to make of it. There is a lot of conjecture in the community, and we are now waiting for confirmation.
What's occurred is that advertisements for the 2013 Android and iOS puzzle game Puyo Puyo Quest Puyo Puyo Quest, which is unique to Japan, were placed on Sega's North American Twitter account. The hitch is that the new character artwork for the series' newcomers as well as those from the game is included in these English-language advertisements.
X user PuyoPuyo_Facts pointed out that there are more of these Tweets, but here are two instances. It's interesting that no one in the West can download the game despite these advertisements being in English and linking to the Japanese app store.
The actual game is a continuation of the Puyo Puyo series, which has games on the Switch that are very engaging and puzzle-based. We heartily suggest it. There is yet no response to Sega's enigmatic tweets, but we hope to see this game arrive in the West.
It's strange that they're posting these clues in English, including new characters and models that haven't been seen before, without making an announcement just yet. Dedicated Puyo enthusiasts await any word from Sega on this development; it's unclear whether we'll see a new game or, at last, a localization.
It may be that Sega is promoting the game before it is released to a global audience, or it might simply be a pre-holiday push for a ten-year-old mobile game.
We recommend checking out today's Coin Master free spins for some additional goodies in the game if you're looking for some new mobile games to play.
