Now let's dive into our guide to the Resident Evil 2 characters.

Characters from Resident Evil 2

Kennedy, Leon S.

Though our comprehensive Resident Evil 2 Leon guide has a wealth of information on him, there are a few things you should know right away. On his first day of work as a rookie police officer in Racoon City, Leon S. Kennedy must cope with an epidemic of zombies. Really, terrible luck. Leon is a pretty competent marksman, has a good heart, and a strong sense of justice. He is a fantastic protagonist because of all of these qualities, which is why Resident Evil 4 stars him (spoilers ahead).

Claire Redfield

Claire Redfield, the sister of Chris Redfield from the first Resident Evil film, travels to Raccoon City to look for information about her brother's whereabouts. When she finally gets there, she finds that, regrettably, zombies are all around. She also encounters Leon in the beginning of the game, gets separated from him later, and then later reunites with him on his quest. She discovers a small girl lost in the chaos and helps her. Claire is a very perceptive, intelligent, and resourceful person. There's a reason she's still here even if she may not be as strong as her brother Chris.

Ada Wong

Ada Wong is one of the more enigmatic characters in Resident Evil 2, her employers and allegiances unclear, although she does sometimes appear to assist Leon Kennedy, proving that she is at least not a bad person. Ada, whomever she is, is an extremely competent agent who is adept with both a rifle and a zombie.

Marvin Branagh, Lieutenant

Marvin, a Raccoon City Police Department officer, is present at the station during the first breakout, although he was unprepared for the intensity of the activity the undead creatures unleashed. Lieutenant Marvin Branagh, who unhappily isn't cut out for combat, assists Leon on his quest but mostly serves as an informant by providing Leon with the knowledge he needs to navigate the station.

The Birkin family

Claire Redfield finds Sherry Birkin, a young girl who was taken in by the Raccoon City Police Department just before the breakout. The two of them must work together to find a route out of the area while avoiding the zombies and live creatures. Sherry is highly intelligent, brave, and obviously afraid of what's happening to her, but she also shows strength in her quest for escape.

Mr. X

Mr. X, also known as the tyrant or the T-100, is an uncontrollable entity that exists only to terrorize the protagonists. He chases after Leon and Claire through halls and bursts through walls like the cool-aid guy in an effort to destroy them. Mr. X is not so much a character as an unstoppable force. His exposed head is his one vulnerability, and he hits with strong fists. But good luck getting any hits.

Well that's all for now, people. We hope this clarifies some of the storyline of Resident Evil 2, and we wish you success in your quest to defeat zombies. Visit our guide to the best Switch horror games for more fantastic games like this one.
