Mario Kart Tour: Haunted Tour challenges

October 21, 2020: Our Mario Kart Tour Halloween Tour challenges guide has been updated.

The combat racing action of Mario Kart has been expertly adapted for touchscreens by Nintendo. The most remarkable aspect might be that it can be played with only one thumb, although in an unnatural way. In addition to the automated acceleration, you may turn or drift in any direction (based on the control scheme you choose) by tapping and swiping the screen. All you have to do to use an item is tap or flick it (if you don't, you'll hold it defensively behind you). Everything else happens automatically. This covers more than just leaps and boosts.

Additionally, the experience's whole structure is entirely different. Even though the renowned multiplayer is back (at last!), the most of your time will be spent taking part in the bi-weekly tours that give you a set of cups to finish. If you defeat them, you'll get grand stars, which are essentially cash that opens up seasonal prizes like gliders, karts, new drivers, and tickets that you can spend for improvements. In order to get the maximum number of grand stars, you will need to do a number of tasks in addition to performing well in the cups (because the Mario Kart Tour is based on a points system, earning points is really more significant than placing first).

These provide you rewards for a broad range of activities, such as utilizing goods and boosting yourself. Even though many challenges are ongoing, many of them also reset every two weeks in tandem with the new, or current, tour. But because that's the purpose of this tutorial, we'll get into the details later on.

How does Mario Kart Tour's challenge system operate?

Mario Kart Tour challenges, which we mentioned in passing in the beginning, require you to carry out a broad range of in-game tasks and reward you when you succeed. However, there are two kind of challenges: seasonal and permanent. Here's a brief summary:
  • Persistent challenges: don’t reset, and provide you with long-term goals that reward you with rubies upon completion
  •  Seasonal challenges: reset on a bi-weekly basis and gift you with grand stars that you’ll need to unlock seasonal rewards
Here is the distinction between great stars and rubies for your understanding:
  • Rubies: the premium currency, which you can spend on the pipe for new characters, drivers, and karts, and the Coin Rush minigame, which showers you with gold coins
  • Grand stars: a seasonal currency that unlocks bi-weekly rewards, which include coins, rubies, drivers, karts, gliders, tickets, and more
To be clear, if you don't intend to spend any (or much) of your actual money, both sets of challenges and rewards are crucial to your long-term success in Mario Kart Tour. You will need as much free material as possible. The whole set of Mario Kart Tour challenges is now available. Since we'll be updating this page weekly along with the resets, we suggest bookmarking it and checking it out often.
