Mario & Rabbids: The Next Character in Sparks of Hope Is Not a Nintendo Character
David Soliani announced the Nintendo Switch game Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope during the Ubisoft Forward 2022 presentation. He said that, similar to the first Mario + Rabbids, there will be a lot of DLC available for it after it launches. Even while not much was revealed, Soliani did hint to one notorious figure who would appear in the strategy game later on.
Fans of vintage platformers seem to be in for a treat, as word has it that we will be receiving the Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope Rayman DLC. Rayman, who was teased as a playable character in the third and final DLC release, is set to appear in three major DLC packages for the game. We don't know what else was revealed, therefore we don't know what shape this DLC will take, but the idea of Mario and Rayman, two longtime competitors in platforming games, finally working together on a game makes this 90s kid's heart sing.
A detailed teaser for one of the game's early missions was the only information released. We were able to see how the new gameplay mechanisms operate and get a closer look at a few gameplay components. Players may now walk freely, departing from the grid-based XCOM-style gameplay and more closely resembling a strategy game like Valkyrie Chronicles. Will the enchantment of the original be retained? Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will be out on October 20, 2022, so we won't have to wait long.
