Since at least 2019, there have been reports of a port of the popular game, but no one is sure where it is or if it even existed at all. Rumors about Twilight Princess Switch port
People are excitedly anticipating the release of Twilight Princess on the Switch in 2024. Though we are unable to confirm anything at this time, we anticipate hearing more rumors shortly. Should a port be made for the Switch family of consoles, it is most likely going to be for the Switch 2.
Speaking on the Game Mess podcast, Jeff Grub spread the most significant rumor about the Twilight Princess Switch port: Nintendo will reveal the Twilight Princess and Wind Waker Switch ports during the September 2022 Nintendo Direct. Unfortunately, there was no announcement. Regards, Jeff.
Grubb made a similar forecast a few months earlier in May, stating that he thought Nintendo will release a Twilight Princess Switch port in October 2022. In an earlier episode of the podcast, he asked, "Why wouldn't they just put it out this year? They've been holding onto this." He appears certain that these things are real.
Andy Robinson of VGC expressed a similar level of confidence in a since-deleted tweet, stating that "Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are 100% coming this year." That is the expression of great confidence for an untrue statement made by two very reputable journalists covering video games.
Speculation on the Twilight Princess Switch port release date
Considering all of the information above, it is possible that a Twilight Princess Switch version may eventually make its way to the Switch, perhaps taking over Nintendo's traditional position as a "holiday game." However, at this time, it seems more probable that it will arrive on the Switch 2. Of course, all of this is supposing the Twilight Princess Switch port—which we continue to hold out hope for—actually exists.
