2024's top zombie games
Can we all agree that zombies are great before I go into the best zombie games? Can we? Fantastic. Not only in video games but in all media, the horror genre is one of the most widely enjoyed. Regardless of your preference for slashers, monsters, psychological suspense, supernatural spooks, or any other subgenre, there's something about them that captivates viewers. But I defy you to locate a subcategory that is more well-liked than zombies.
We've all been enthralled by them for a reason or another since, well, forever. However, when it comes to video games, we can credit series like Resident Evil for the noticeable surge in popularity of zombies. Not to add, there aren't many things quite as gratifying as giving these living dead their duelling heads a hard blow with a harsh item. In light of this, we decided to join the zombies and set out to find the greatest zombie games available for the Switch and mobile devices.
We're no longer pals, so if you're not like horror or zombie-slaying action, please go out the exit where you can discover lists full of unicorns, rainbows, and sunshine. Well, maybe that's a little dramatic, but our selections for the happiest and most magical best Mario games, Disney games, and games like Stardew Valley are definitely joyful.
Here are our choices for the top zombie games available on Switch and mobile devices, without further ado.
The top zombie games are as follows:
Mobile Survival Z
This zombie survival game on the Apple Arcade resembles a cutesy Walking Dead. One closed-off level at a time, you navigate throughout a post-apocalyptic world in it. You will have to fight off a lot of zombies in each of these areas in order to get the materials you need to continue moving ahead and through the ruins of civilization.
This is a much more laid-back experience than some of the very hard zombie games out there. The game has a four-hour narrative mode that may be played over and over again while clearing the whole globe and accomplishing all the necessary tasks.
Mobile Puzzles & Survival
What results from combining puzzle games with zombie games? The solution is a game called Puzzles & Survival, which takes the basic idea of Puzzles & Dragons and gives it a zombie-themed twist.
In case you are unfamiliar with either game, Puzzles & Survival involves rearranging tiles to align their colours, and you may get additional points by forming combinations while doing so. When you do manage to match them, your character will be able to retaliate against zombies that are prowling the remains of society.
Switch - Resident Evil
Yes, that is how we are beginning. Thanks to this renowned, but eerie series, survival horror and zombies have become quite popular. You wouldn't have films like The Evil Within, Outlast, Parasite, and Dead Space—the latter of which is basically Resident Evil in space—if it weren't for the terrifying, run-down, but magnificent home.
You are a visitor to the Spencer Mansion in Resident Evil. Considering that you arrived here after being pursued through the woods by a gang of zombie canines, the term "guest" may be a stretch. Nevertheless, it ought to tell you plenty about the type of trip you may expect. There are riddles to work out, things to locate, a narrative to discover, and plenty of zombies to kill. There are two campaigns in the game, and they each feature Chris or Jill, two of the most well-known heroes in horror history. I have nothing but praise for this one.
Dead Light – Transfer
You are stuck in Harran because of a virus that has taken over the region. Despicable abominations are out at night, while during the day, undead prowl the streets. It is really a haven for zombie enthusiasts. Explore the open environment, which is filled with decaying structures, vile animals and people, and other dangers along with a morally challenging narrative. It's an enjoyable experience. We don't blame you for whatever you do, of course, in a world this cruel, but beware, there are repercussions. In fact, some of them are so severe that spending a night outside in this dilapidated metropolis will seem like a vacation to Disneyland.
Resident Evil 6 - SwitchHow we miss you, Leon, oh Leon. Still, we can always go see Resident Evil 6's emotional badass. Yes, I would usually rank Resi 4 higher than number 6; but, this is a list about zombies, not crazy villagers, so if I ever go down that rabbit hole, I swear to rank Resi 4 first. The fact that RE6 has many campaigns with plenty of zombies—not that this implies all of the storylines are excellent—may be its greatest feature. Although the game is more action-oriented than survival horror, you may still have fun eliminating the zombies.I swear not to include any more games in this series, even if Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 are excellent, since I've already discussed two of them. I will, however, point you in the direction of our ranking of the top Resident Evil titles on the Switch. It's chock full of awesome survival horror.
