According to the most recent rumors, the Switch 2 will have an 8-inch LCD screen.

There is a new Nintendo Switch 2 rumor. Please keep in mind the phrase "allegedly" and proceed with caution while reading this. A report claims that the Switch 2 will reportedly sport an LCD screen when it launches. This information is taken from a Bloomberg piece that was based on observations made by analyst Hiroshi Hayase on Omdia. According to rumors, the Nintendo Switch 2 will (supposedly) launch in 2024 and have an eight-inch LCD screen. In context, the screen on the existing OLED Switch measures seven inches, so adding one inch would make the console somewhat larger and the panel much larger.Hayase is a reputable source that focuses on small and medium displays in her study on supply chains used by businesses. Hayase states, "The new device from the Kyoto-based games maker will be responsible for a doubling in shipments of so-called amusement displays in 2024," which is exactly what is quoted in the article.Though rumors are beginning to solidify, this is not an official confirmation and may as well be a different corporation. According to recent reports, the Switch 2 is expected to retail for around $400 and be released in September 2024. This was confirmed by Altec Lansing, an AI startup attending CES, however it later withdrew the statement once it became widely circulated online.Nonetheless, there were some intriguing reports in 2023 that Sharp would be providing the LCD screens for a new console. a happenstance? I'm starting to doubt it. Sharp didn't mention any people by name, but everything is fitting together very well. The spokesman for Nintendo has not responded to any of these rumors.

It seems sense that because the purported Switch 2 features an LCD screen, an OLED Switch 2 with perhaps more battery and storage capacity will eventually be released. It's no secret that the Switch, amazing as it is, is becoming older and won't be able to stay up for very long. As such, any improvements would be much appreciated.Once again, none of this is verified; it's all claimed. What better way to spend the interim than playing some of the top JRPGs on the Switch or finding out which Nintendo Switch console is available?
