Metallica takes the virtual stage at the Fortnite Festival.

You're in luck if you like fast-paced thrash metal and first-person shooters, as many legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are tearing up the virtual stage for the Metallica Fornite Festival collaboration. Six of Metallica's greatest hits are available for streaming starting today, and the band will be taking over all other Fortnite game modes to create one massive gaming mosh pit.

With Metallica: Fuel, Fire, Fury, you can experience the band's songs like never before. Some of the band's fattest songs will be played on the virtual stage over six showcases this weekend, along with a ton of intense gameplay that fits the music. Unexpected crossovers are nothing new for Fortnite; a Fortnite Fallout collaboration is about to come. But this time, we're going back to the classic era, so let your hair down, get ready for some serious pitiful moments, and embrace your inner Eddie Munson.

James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo of Metallica are the performing superstars gracing the podiums for Fortnite Festival Season 4, and they're not just here to perform—they're here to combat. With 16 musicians slicing through a four-song performance, Battle Stage is a brand-new musical free-for-all that will endure long beyond Metallica's reign. Only one player will emerge sweaty and triumphant.

Alongside their maiden performance on the Fortnite Festival stage, there will be a ton of gaming with a Metallica theme. With the Metallica Cup and a brand-new POI inspired by the band's M72 World Tour, along with a ton of metal quests and epic goodies up for grabs, Ride the Lightning gameplay is a thrilling addition to the classic battle royale mode. Along with LEGO equivalents, band member-specific costumes are also on the way. Rocket Racing is bringing a Metallica Jäger 619 combo and the Thrash Mountain Track, so you can really press the pedal to the metal.
