For the Slipknot and Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance collaboration, go psychosocial.
If you like eerie imagery, unreservedly loud music, and the unquestionable coziness of a boiler suit, you've probably heard of the little band Slipknot. The nine-piece from Iowa has been gaining recognition in the gaming world for a short while now. In a recent promotional film released by developer Atlus, they disclosed a cooperation with Slipknot on Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance.
It's not shocking that the legendary nu-metal band is sticking their bloodied fingers into more gaming pie after their Dead By Daylight collab recently revealed their notorious masks in all their gory splendor. Members M. Shawn Crahan (better known as Clown) and Eloy Casagrande, the newest drummer, spoke about how Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance influenced their most recent stage masks in the band's last promotional film.
The demons Loup-Garou, Daemon, and Gurulu from Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance are the inspiration for the eerie casting, and Clown and Eloy describe how their carved masks honor the legendary conflict between angels and devils in Atlus' most recent role-playing game. The eerie the better when it comes to Slipknot, and SMT V perfectly captures their strange stage personalities.
As a larger and improved version of the first SMT V, Vengeance is an RPG from the creator of the wildly successful Persona games franchise that has stunning new graphics and music along with a fresh storyline and many regions to explore. We're not sure whether it implies a Slipknot tie-in song or not. Even then, if one doesn't materialize, we may still see a massive conflict between angels and devils taking place to Duality, which looks and sounds very awesome.
For a chance to win one of the masks in the video, autographed by Clown, Eloy, and New Guy, lucky fans in the US may participate in a sweepstakes competition. To increase your chances of winning, you can also join the Godhood Guild for an additional entry.
