Super Smash Bros. Ultimate now includes Sora from Kingdom Hearts.
When Super Smash Brothers Ultimate was coming to an end Masahiro Sakurai said during today's Mr. Sakurai Presents live broadcast that Sora from the Kingdom Hearts video game series would be the last and newest addition to the legendary warrior. Along with his trademark attire and keyblade, Sora even makes an appearance with his well-known Mickey Mouse chain.
Sora and the Kingdom Hearts series were created by Square Enix, although a number of Disney characters, such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and others, play significant roles in the game. Disney owns the rights to the character, so getting a license for Super Smash Bros. must have been quite the challenge. During the presentation, Sakurai said that Sora was the most requested character overall for the 2016 Fighters Ballet, and he made great efforts to fulfill that desire.
Sora shows up wearing four distinct ensembles that are taken directly from several Kingdom Hearts games, each with its own unique color scheme. There will be a number of spirits included in DLC Fighter Pass 11, but notably, they are all Kingdom Hearts characters rather than any Disney-owned figures.
Sora employs magic as his neutral speciality in addition to swinging his keyblade in combat. Blizzaga, Fira, and the long-range strike Thundaga are some examples of spells. As a light character, Sora is simple to launch, yet he also possesses a potent counter and can use his ranged magic strikes to successfully zone guard.
Nine songs are included in the list: Night of Fate, Destiny's Force, Shroud Dark Cloud, Hand in Hand, and a unique version of the song that was originally composed by the original composer and used as Sora's Super Smash Bros. winning theme.
Hollow Bastion, a floating stage that encompasses several locations from the Kingdom Hearts series, is the new level. The level will shift to a section named Dive To The Heart when there is not enough time or stock. Here, backdrop pictures in the series' signature stain glass art style include Riku, Roxas, Xion, Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. We also got a peek at Kirby's appearance when he mimics Sora's skills, and it's very cute.
On October 19, Sora and the DLC Fighter Pass 11 will be available, along with the Mii Fighter Costume Pack 11. Splatoon costumes for Judd the cat and the Octolings are among the newest Mii Fighter outfits. The last Mii Fighter outfit is the much-desired Doom Slayer from DOOM, who makes an appearance as a Mii Gunner.
Lastly, Nintendo said that Steve and Alex, two amiibo figures based on Minecraft, would both be available in the spring of 2022. For the other DLC combatants, Amiibo figurines are anticipated; however, at this time, no more information is available.
