The most exceptional characters from Final Fantasy
After all, who are the greatest Final Fantasy characters in a series that is chock-full of intriguing and mysterious heroes and antagonists? We are fairly equipped to address this issue since, coincidentally, there are a few mega-fans of Final Fantasy at PT. But because Prompto isn't here, we advise you to leave this guide prompto if you want to visit him.
See our lists of FFVII characters and Crisis Core characters to get to know a wider variety of characters from the FF series. Who knows, maybe we'll feature one or two names from such lists here. We also have some excellent recommendations for Final Fantasy games in our list of the best.
Anyhow, let's go on to the top Final Fantasy characters.Zack Fair<
Even though Zack is one of the greatest Final Fantasy characters of all time, he would still deserve a spot on our list even if we were unaware of the upcoming remake of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. He was a minor character for a while, but his PSP game made him a major figure in gamers' thoughts, and his positive outlook is contagious.
In addition to his effect, you have to at least respect this person, if not develop a deep affection for him. Add to that the fact that he's a genuinely kind guy who cares about people around him.
Fireworks
You'll have to bear with us on this one, mostly because Final Fantasy 13 isn't as beloved as other games in the franchise—which is a terrible thing, as it does include one of the greatest Final Fantasy characters. Lightning is not only very attractive, but she also has the principles and disposition of a passionately devoted person who goes above and beyond for the people she loves.
Auron
The reality that Auron from FFX is a badass, which alone is reason enough for him to be on our list, but we can and will go a bit farther into his personality to show you why he's one of the greatest Final Fantasy characters ever created. He certainly looks the part, especially with that massive sword on his back, but if you go beyond that and learn more about his background, you'll find minor details that give him more nuance and solidify his ranking on our list.
Cloud Strife
Cloud Strife is the protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, and it's easy to see why he's so beloved. Even though Cloud might be uncomfortable at times, you can't help but adore the man since, at his core, he has strong feelings for the people in his life. Add to that his tough exterior and formidable fighting skills, and you have a winning combination. Check out our guide if you'd want to learn even more about FFVII's Cloud.
Leonhart Squall
Out of all the main Final Fantasy characters, Squall has the finest development arc in Final Fantasy VIII. He is the protagonist of the game. We acknowledge that there's a potential he could first irritate you, but with time, he grows on you and develops into a kind man who really cares about others. It's very enjoyable to follow this former recluse as he grows during his adventure.
Tifa Lockhart
Tifa is a monarch. You need to treat her the same way that we do. There are a lot of positive aspects to this character, like the fact that she exudes warmth and is a fierce fighter. Some even argue that she is among the finest female characters in gaming history, but that is a discussion for another day. In any case, see our guide to find out more about FFVII's Tifa.
Yuffie
Yuffie's distinct attractiveness is further enhanced by the fact that she is one of the most lively characters in the whole Final Fantasy series. She also has a hint of patriotism, which is endearing to see since she wants her country to regain its previous splendor. Though Yuffie is just a supporting character in the FF7 world, she is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining Final Fantasy characters. We advise you to make every effort to have this cunning adolescent on your squad.
Yuna
I can't dispute Yuna's compassion and her eagerness to assist people, but she is by far one of the most empathic characters in the game. This is particularly apparent in Final Fantasy 10, which I confess I don't think highly of for a few reasons (Tidus and Blitzball). She also has some similarities with FFVII's Aerith, who was only excluded from this list since there are already so many characters from that game here, as they both play comparable roles in their respective games.
Moguls
Indeed, we do have a whole entry dedicated to moogles, and why not? Who doesn't like meeting the different moogles in the Final Fantasy series? Our editor even has several cuddly little ferrets called Stiltzkin and Mog. The species that bears his name is included on our list simply because of how lovely this tiny puffball is.
Palazzo Kefka
We excluded FFVII's Sephiroth from our list for similar reasons to Aerith's, though he undoubtedly deserves to be considered one of the greatest Final Fantasy characters. If we included both Aerith and Sephiroth, the FFVII universe would account for six of the ten spots, which speaks for itself. However, we took a different route and ended up with Kefka Palazzo, the clown who is so good at being both insane and wicked that he can even rival the Joker.
Kefka's design is also very fantastic, and he definitely has that iconic Final Fantasy main antagonist sense about him. He is deranged, insane, very strong, and deserving of being hailed as one of the greatest villains in Final Fantasy X.
Here is the list of the greatest Final Fantasy characters. We should emphasize that this list could have easily included just characters from Final Fantasy VII, but we attempted to be fair to everyone. Check out our best mobile RPGs list for more amazing games.
