The next project for Nintendo and Illumination is reportedly a Zelda movie.

It may not come as much of a surprise to any of us, but it seems like Nintendo and Illumination are working on another movie. Who would have thought that their first joint project, the Mario movie, would go on to earn over a billion dollars? So, keep a look out for Zelda characters, as Illumination's Zelda movie may be coming soon.

As to Jeff Sneider's statement on The Hot Mic podcast (available on ComicBook.com), the next Zelda film in animation is the "next big Illumination-Nintendo franchise." He said that the two have almost finished a "big deal" for the movie, so we could soon get to see Link in all his blond glory on the big screen.

Given that the most recent Mario movie box office figures make it the second-highest-grossing animated feature of all time, it should come as no surprise that the two want to keep working together. Yes, all time, which implies that it somehow surpasses hits like Toy Story and The Lion King.

In any case, remember that these are just rumors, so proceed with caution. To help you keep calm, how about watching the Mario movie trailer again?
