iPhone games for NES, SNES, and Game Boy will soon be available.
The Apple App Store will provide Antstream, the first official cloud streaming service to be released on iPhone and iPad, for download starting on Thursday, June 27, 2024. On opening day, players may choose among 1,333 games, and throughout the game's lifetime, two new titles will be introduced every month.
Possibly the most thrilling aspect of this is that there will be a variety of NES, SNES, and Game Boy titles available for play. The Antstream library will feature a number of games, such as Zombies Ate My Neighbours (SNES), Banishing Racer (Game Boy), which is only available in Japan and isn't available on the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy subscription service. In fact, a lot of these games aren't available on any of the Nintendo systems. It seems that Apple will be receiving the vintage games that Nintendo overlooked.
The complete list of systems that Antstream supports, along with how many games each will have on release day, is as follows:
- Amiga – 201 games
- Amstrad – 35 games
- Arcade – 293 games
- Atari 8-bit – 28 games
- Atari 2600 – 28 games
- Atari 7800 – 11 games
- Commodore 64 – 358 games
- DOS – 5 games
- Game Boy – 5 games
- Atari Lynx – 5 games
- Genesis – 57 games
- MSX – 13 games
- NES – 33 games
- PS1 – 8 games
- SNES – 42 games
- ZX Spectrum – 351 games
- MSX – 1 game
- Atari 5200 – 1 game
That's a great collection, and we're interested to see what more it could include in the future. It seems that iPhones and iPads will soon be regarded as some of the greatest vintage gaming consoles thanks to this software.
We suggest downloading the Mistplay app, which measures the amount of time you spend playing mobile games and gives you points that can be redeemed for merchandise like gift cards, if you need extra motivation to play games on your phone. You can really earn money while playing games with it.
