This month, Redmagic 9S Pro makes its debut in China before going worldwide.
You don't have to wait until later this month to check out what the newest Redmagic gaming phone has to offer if you want to see what it has to offer. Now that the Redmagic 9S Pro has debuted in China, we are aware of all of its important features and specs.
The Redmagic 9S Pro runs on a full-fat 8 Gen 3 processor instead of a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, despite the rather misleading name. Nevertheless, some of the top gaming phones (game phones) don't employ any old 8 Gen 3 processor. Redmagic refers to this unique version as Leading Version. This one raises the GPU's frequency to 1 GHz and the CPU core rate to 3.4 GHz.
With an astounding 2,369,542 points, Redmagic claims to have the highest AnTuTu score ever attained by a Android phone. Naturally, maintaining such high clocks calls for a lot of cooling, so Redmagic reworked their thermal solution to handle the strain.
To control temperatures, the ICE 13.5 cooling system makes use of an incredibly large vapor chamber, a novel cooling gel, and an active fan that spins at 22,000 RPM. The manufacturer claims that this may lower chipset temperatures by as much as 19.5 degrees Celsius, as opposed to the Redmagic 9 Pro's 18 degrees.
The Redmagic 9S Pro and Redmagic 9S Pro+ are the two variants of this phone available in China. It is unclear at this time whether the Pro+ will be available in other areas; typically, the normal Pro is limited to Europe. The battery size, charging time, RAM, and storage choices are the primary variations across the models.
The Pro+ boasts a 5,500 mAh battery with ultra-fast 165W charging, while the Pro has a massive 6,500 mAh battery that charges at 80W. Regarding memory and storage, the Pro comes with 12GB+256GB or 12GB+512GB of RAM, while the Pro+ has 16GB+512GB or 24GB+1TB.
Regarding design, both versions have a similar footprint and style with the Redmagic 9 Pro. With a 120Hz refresh rate, an under-display selfie camera, and an OLED display, you still get an unbroken front panel. The back cameras are still the same, and thankfully there isn't a camera bulge like these days.
In 2024, a phone launch would not be complete without mentioning artificial intelligence (AI), and Redmagic is no different. Its most recent operating system has AI writing assistance, AI wallpaper picture creation, AI smart triggers, AI sound recognition for games, and more.
In China, the new phones will go on sale on July 9 and have a starting price of under 4,800 RMB ($660). For those of us outside of China, however, the July 16 worldwide launch is more thrilling. Outside of China, phones are usually more expensive, but it seems like we're in for another excellent phone at a fair price.
