Discover the bright spots from previous generations with our gen 1 Pokémon, Pokémon gen 3, Pokémon gen 4, Pokémon , , Gen 5.Pokémon gen 6, You may find material for gen 7 Pokémon, gen 8 Pokémon, and gen 9 Pokémon useful. Alternatively, our list of the top ghost Pokémon is a must-read if you're looking for a friend with a ghostly vibe.

Alright, let's move on to the top gen 2 Pokémon.

It is important to note that there aren't any legendary Pokémon or starter Pokémon on this list before we continue. Look, we already know that Cyndaquil is lovely, that Entei is fierce, and that Lugia is amazing, but this allows the other members of the Johto group to make an impression.

Furret

Given that it is a Generation 2 Pokémon and many more lovely animals have existed since our time in Johto, Furret is undoubtedly one of the cutest mon in the whole series. However, judging by its face, you can see how its adorableness has endured over time. Actually, there's little chance that it will help you defeat the Elite Four, but really, what gives? Everyone knows that you need at least one'mon who can get you purchase it something attractive by batting its eyes.

Furret is ranked 162 in the Pokédex, having evolved from Sentret at level 15. Furret builds nests that fit its long body, preventing other animals from entering, so that it may have a little privacy. The mothers of Furret wrap their bodies over their young to lull them to sleep, which is a really cute detail about the species.

Espeon/Umbrellan

One of the many reasons Umbreon is the finest Eevee evolution is because, while Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareron symbolize elements, Umbreon and Espeon are like night and day. Eevee has several evolutions, two of which make their appearance in generation two. These two'mon are not only very strong in combat, with Espeon being a psychic Pokémon and Umbreon being one of the first dark Pokémon, but they also develop rather well.

Eevee needs to grow to love you as a result of your growing friendship. It may then develop into Umbreon at night when you level it up again. If you're seeking Espeon instead, you may repeat this procedure throughout the day. In any case, you've got a great addition to your squad, but based on my extensive research, I think you should acquire the dark-type Umbreon funkos and figurines.

See our psychic Pokémon weakness guide for assistance in defeating Espeon, or go to our dark Pokémon weakness article if Umbreon is proving to be a challenge.

Snubbull

Oh, Snubbull, such a unique little man. It would be negligent of us if we left it off of this list. Snubbull is perhaps one of the most intriguing designs among generation two monsters; while it isn't very powerful at first, its evolutionary path is very remarkable. Really, the dog Pokémon's bark is just as sharp as its bite.

Snubbul is a normal-type Pokémon in generation two, but since generation six, it has become a fairy Pokémon. For information on how to beat it in the more recent games, it is advisable to refer to our guide on fairy Pokémon weakness.

Tactics

One of the coolest new evolutions that Game Freak has introduced to an already-existing chain is still Crobat. This second generation Pokémon, whose name may not have revealed it, is a beastly grass Pokémon that can use poison and psychic attacks. It develops from Golbat. Crobat is a versatile fighter that can inflict a great deal of damage on the wrong opponent. Send it out against the flames only if you're up for the prospect of a crispy bat.

Check out our guide to find out what the grass Pokémon weakness is in order to destroy Crobat in previous generations. Alternatively, see to our tips on flying Pokémon weakness and poison Pokémon weakness for strategies on how to defeat it in more current games.

Houndoom

Houndoom is by far one of the most formidable dog Pokémon that you will encounter in Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. We won't even discuss the grass starter here, but Houndoom is an excellent fire Pokémon that also happens to be a dark-type, so if you decide to start your adventure with Totodile, Houndoom is a great option.

If you have any difficulties while crossing Houndoom, refer to our article on fire Pokémon weakness to learn how to extinguish the flames.

Tyranitar

We humbly propose that all trainers in the Johto area make a special effort to get this hybrid dark and rock-type Pokémon, since it is really a beast. It does, however, require a lot of labor since you must complete Pupitar, the second stage of Larvitar, reaching level 55. We're certain that this huge guy is a lock for competitive play if we ever get to play Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal again on the Switch.

It's critical to understand both the rock Pokémon weakness and the dark Pokémon weakness in order to fight Tyranitar. Fortunately, we have all the information you need.

Deadly

Slowking may not have spoken to us in a long time if he hadn't made the list (why is he here, anyway?), but the water and psychic Pokémon are still worthy of recognition because, once again, Game Freak masterfully adds a new evolution to an already-existing line. Slowpoke is undoubtedly elevated to new heights by this royal'mon. We can all agree that Pokémon 2000 is the greatest Pokemon movie, and it's a bright light in the series, but maybe it's a list for another time.

Are you curious about what is next in your conflict with Slowking? See our page on psychic Pokémon weakness. Make sure you do it, really. Slowpoke's evolution is of the finest psychic Pokémon in the whole series, so it's no slouch.

Opportunistic

Pokémon Gold and Silver not only provide new evolutions for characters like Seadra, Golbat, and Slowbro, but it's also the first generation to offer other'mon evolutions outside Eevee. You may develop Poliwhirl into Politoed rather from Poliwrath if you're more of a cheerful and laid-back toad. You may want to think about this since Politoed is one of the greatest water Pokémon in the Johto area and it just exudes joy.

Since Politoed is one of the two potential Poliwhirl evolutions, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the requirements for both Politoed and Poliwrath's evolutions in order to get the creature of your choice.

Kingdra

What a treat—this new evolution of an already-existing Pokémon comes in the second generation, and it's the ideal illustration. Without a doubt, one of the greatest water Pokémon in the Johto region is Kingdra. Furthermore, in later incarnations, Kingdra is partially a dragon Pokémon, which strengthens its fighting abilities even more. And simply have a peek at it. This animal is definitely a majestic badass.

Are you curious how to defeat Kingdra? Simply consult our instructions on water Pokémon weakness and dragon Pokémon weakness.

Amylin

This hill belongs to us, Miltank, the generation two Pokémon champion, and the SmartRead team will fight to the very end to protect it. While this is normally dull, Miltank is a normal Pokémon that hits like a freight train. The lack of an evolution is the only thing that detracts from this Pokémon of the second generation. If only Game Freak could bring this'mon back with a vengeance, oh, what might have been. With the help of our tutorial, you can find out what the normal Pokémon weakness is and how to beat Miltank and other monsters of the normal type.

Scizor

At PT, we're huge supporters of the Scyther evolution line. Just take a look at Scizor; with an attack stat that makes other creatures envious, this courageous steel Pokémon can create all kinds of havoc on the battlefield. Not to be overlooked is its mega transformation, since Mega Scizor is much more lethal than its normal form.As the first non-evolutionary "mon" in Kanto, Scyther raised the standard. Since it's flawless, why tamper with perfection? Scizor, however, is evidence that you can still improve upon concepts that seem to be flawless. Furthermore, the dangers of the steel Pokémon weakness are outweighed by the quantity of resistances this kind of monster has.The top Gen 2 Pokemon is right there for you. Accept our choices? Please inform us if you choose not to. Check out our Pokédex to see what other'mons are out there; it has a list of all'mons from every generation.
