The touchscreen controls for Super Mario Galaxy are revealed

The Mario 35th anniversary Twitter account shared a video showcasing Mario Galaxy's new touchscreen controls ahead of Super Mario 3D All-Star's Switch debut this coming Friday, so you can prepare yourself for what to anticipate while playing in handheld mode or on the Switch Lite. For those of you who like to play with your Switch docked, motion controls have also been shown.

As seen in the video, you may gather and release star pieces using the touchscreen or the Switch Joy-Con's integrated gyro targeting system. The Pro Controller's compatibility with Mario Galaxy is currently unknown, but given that it has integrated gyro controls, it should function similarly to the Joy-Con.

Early in September, near the conclusion of the Mario 35th anniversary-themed direct, Super Mario 3D All-Stars was unannounced. Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy will be included; they are all HD visuals optimized for the Switch and come with a music player so you can keep moving after you finish the game.

Due to the restricted number of physical and digital copies available, this much awaited game has seen significant controversy, leaving some fans rushing to get their hands on a copy. A Resetera user reports that Base.com, an online retailer in the UK, just canceled all of its pre-orders because of a "woefully short" allotment of stock. Nintendo has not yet provided an explanation for its brief existence.

Despite the pre-order problems, Mario 3D All-Stars has surpassed The Last of Us Part 2 and Minecraft to become one of Amazon US's best-selling games of 2020 so far, second only to Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The game will retail for $59.99/£49.99 and be released in limited quantities both digitally and physically on September 18, 2021, and March 31, 2021.
