Palworld mod adds Pikachu in order to accept Pokémon parallels.
Ever since the first video for Palworld was published more than a year ago by developer and publisher Pocket Pair, Pokémon fans have taken offense at the survival shooter's apparent resemblance to Nintendo's venerable property. Even though Pocket Pair hasn't yet provided official mod support, modders are inevitably already working hard to include their own inventions and ideas into Palworld, which has successfully debuted across platforms to incredible popularity, breaking records. Naturally, the first unauthorized version to release celebrates the link by allowing you to take on the role of Ash and include Pikachu and other well-known Pokémon in the game.
You did really read correctly. That experience will become much simpler if you're playing Palworld to satisfy your Pokémon itch or as a stopgap until the release of the new Pokémon game. Playing as Ash and facing off against Pokémon is now possible thanks to a mod made by YouTuber Toasted Shoes, despite Palworld's original lack of official mod support. The mod, although being unauthorized and seeming to have been added via a coding backdoor, demonstrates the commitment of modders who likely utilized an early-access copy of the game to create their works.
Toasted Shoes intends to upload a complete movie on YouTube that showcases the Poké-mod in all its gruesome splendor. Toasted Shoes has already posted a snippet of the mod via X. As of right now, we are aware that the mod has Pokémon from all generations as well as Brock, Misty, and Jessie from Team Rocket. Palworld gamers will surely be itching to download the update once more information becomes available, but die-hard Pokémon fans may see it as additional evidence that Palword is a blatant ripoff of the cherished Nintendo property.
However, there's no guarantee that this hack will ever appear on the official list since Pocket Pair may prevent it from being supported in order to prevent any possible legal issues with Nintendo. The child-friendly image of Pokémon has been carefully maintained over decades by Nintendo and Game Freak, in sharp contrast to Palworld's philosophy. Because of this, Nintendo—which is fiercely protective of its intellectual property—won't want the link between Palworld and Pokémon to become very obvious and will work hard to keep Palword from being mistaken for an unauthorized Pokémon game. It would definitely stand out if you were playing the Pokémon games in order and eventually arrived to Palworld.
It remains to be seen whether Pocket Pair becomes involved in any issues because of Palworld's connection to Pokémon. However, we believe that Pokémon will only benefit from the new game. First of all, it keeps Pokémon in the news while Nintendo has not yet confirmed the next game in the franchise. Second, it could inspire some inventive and fun gameplay concepts for Game Freak. As Pokémon's venture into the open-world style develops, maybe the developers might try out some survival strategies. Undoubtedly, more bizarre incidents have occurred.
