Who is Fredbear of FNAF?

Because he doesn't really show up as one of the jumpscare providers for the main games, Fredbear is one of the more elusive animatronics from the series. Rather, Fredbear's function in the series is to contribute to the mythos by handing out the Bite of 83 and offering the initial design for later iterations of FNAF's Freddy. In case you're unaware, the Bite of 83 serves as the catalyst for the FNAF series, or at least the terrifying part of it, therefore Fredbear plays a significant role in the overall story.

With very minor exceptions, Fredbear and Freddy have very similar physical features. The first distinction is that Fredbear has a purple bowtie and hat instead of Freddy's traditional black ones. The majority of the minor variations are quite impossible to see, but it's important to note that Fredbear has rounder ears, a little smaller cap, a slightly larger head, and differently positioned whiskers.

What kind of guy is Fredbear from FNAF?

We haven't had much chance to get to know Fredbear, therefore we don't know a lot about his personality. Based on the few exchanges we see in the FNAF 4 minigames, Fredbear appears to be somewhat similar to Freddy and is most comfortable entertaining kids. Since Fredbear never makes an appearance as an enemy in the main narrative, nothing is known about his darker side. However, it is important to note that Fredbear did not choose to bite 83, therefore there is no proof that this animatronic is as malicious as some of the others.
