Entire Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 specification revealed via massive leak
Fans of foldable phones are eager to see what Samsung will unveil at its next Unpacked event, which is scheduled for July 10. But that wait is almost over, courtesy to a major Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 specifications leak. All of the important details for the next two different form factor devices are now known.
All of the information on the Z Fold 6 was released by SmartPrix late last week, and this morning, the Z Flip 6 was revealed. The specifications came from a set of screenshots that seem to mirror the layout of Samsung's typical website, lending some legitimacy to the information.
The primary distinction will be in form, starting with the bigger Z Fold 6, which we anticipate include in our guide to the best folding phones shortly. The phone has a 22.1:9 cover display instead of the 23.1:9 screen of its predecessor, and it is somewhat bigger and shorter. In addition, it will be thinner—when unfurled, it will just be 5.6 mm thick—and weigh about 14 grams less overall.
The internal screen will be 7.6 inches diagonally, with a resolution of 2160 x 1859 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Because of the additional width on the exterior, it has a somewhat more square form than the Z Fold 5. The inside panel is a more minor adjustment, but it seems like the most noticeable change will be how it feels more like a regular smartphone when folded.
The specifications sheet doesn't specifically state which processor the smartphone uses (as is often the case on Samsung's website), but we can infer that because it has 8 cores as opposed to 10 on the Exynos, it's probably a Snapdragon. It is most likely going to employ the S24 family's 8 Gen 3 chip. It has 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM out of the box.
Most of the other specifications are unchanged from the previous generation. Its 50MP primary camera, 10MP 3x telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide cameras all share the same 4400 mAh battery. Both the 4MP under-display camera and the 10MP selfie camera are still present.
Similar in size to its predecessor, the smaller Z Flip 6 will also have a bigger 4000 mAh battery, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and a new 50MP primary camera, which is probably the same one as the Z Fold 6. Although the spec sheet didn't say how much RAM this phone has, other speculations indicate that it has 12GB instead of 8GB.
According to what we're hearing, both smartphones will cost $100 more than their predecessors, and because Samsung won't be adding much in the way of hardware improvements, its software will be its main selling point. We're eager to see what the company has in store, but in the meanwhile, check out our reviews of the top Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Google Pixel phones, as well as our rankings of the finest Android rivals, and See our list of the top Samsung phones for more from this Korean tech titan.
