The conclusion, amiibo, and mythology of Dark Souls Solaire
That's why I make every effort to prevent it! It's also easy to forget, even after playing through Dark Souls six or seven times. I'll thus make sure you don't miss anything, help you figure out the finale of Dark Souls Solaire, and catch you up on all things Solaire, including information on the elusive amiibo and a lot of the mythology around him.
Amiibo Dark Souls Solaire
One of the most difficult to locate amiibos is Solaire, who was included in Dark Souls Remastered on the Switch. Purchasing it from an authorised vendor may run you more than £100. Although it's difficult to determine whether they're genuine, there are some cheaper ones on eBay. I want to own this beautiful figure someday. However, I will not be spending £100 for it (and you really shouldn't, too).
Dark Souls Remastered's Praise the Sun emote may be unlocked at any time with the Solaire amiibo, so you can say it whenever you want to and want to be so incredibly radiant even before you meet our darling Solaire.
Solaire legend in Dark Souls
Who is Solaire? He introduces himself to you as "an adherent of the Lord of Sunlight." He has a few famous quotes, but they also tell us a lot about him as a person. Since there isn't much more information available to us regarding his past, let's concentrate on that.
"Now that I am Undead, I have come to this great land, the birthplace of Lord Gwyn, to seek my very own sun," he declares at that very first encounter. Thus, let's get started simply: Though she recalls not being dead before, Solaire is now undead. He is searching for his own sun and has arrived to Lordran. Does it imply his desire to connect the flame? Is that why he turned into an undead?
A few lines later, he explains that "there's no telling how much longer your world and [his] will remain in contact," adding that "the flow of time itself is convoluted, with heroes centuries old phasing in and out." So, because of the way time is twisted, he is not from your world yet is sometimes a part of it. Additionally, he invites you to "engage in jolly cooperation" by using his summon symbol. Beautiful.
After some time, he declares, "I cannot give up," even in the face of despair, with unyielding determination. In order to do this, I become undead.” By the time we speak with Solaire here, we had discovered that he became undead in order to locate his own sun. Although his motivation for pursuing it is unclear, it is obviously very significant. In order to connect the flame in his planet and bring in a new era of fire, it seems that he become undead. But from where did he originate?
Although it's hard to determine, one idea holds that he's Gwyn's unidentified son. Gwyn was a mother of four kids. There's Filianore, who holds the egg in Dark Souls III's Ringed City, Dark Souls Gwyndolin, a son he raised as a daughter, and Dark Souls Grynevere.
The soldiers of sunshine bear the insignia of the mysterious fourth child, a god of battle. Several pieces of evidence point to the Nameless King from Dark Souls III being the real character, but in any case, Solaire could be related to him somehow. Whatever it is, you may rescue him and allow him to fulfil his aspirations if you complete the questline below.
Questline for Dark Souls Solaire
Preserve Solaire. It's just a little alliteration. But for every fan of Dark Souls, it has a profound and tragic significance. In the majority of playthroughs, Solaire will die, if he can. In his search for the light, he will become insane and be possessed by the worm of sunshine.
He is hostile when you first see him in Lost Izalith, under the soil. Either you murder him or you flee, although killing him is definitely a better option. After being killed, he utters what may be the game's most depressing line: "My Sun... it's setting..." It's very, very dark. Let's discover how to prevent it from happening now!
How to rescue Solaire
: After you vanquish the Taurus Demon early in the game, you first see Solaire. You approach a bridge adorned with a fire-breathing dragon. Head the opposite direction and say hello to Solaire, rather than towards it and down the steps near the bridge (into the Undead Parish). Make sure you explore every conversational avenue with him (and pick up some cheerful cooperation).Solaire will reappear in Anor Londo and around the campfire at Sunlight Altar. The easiest method to rescue Solaire is to ignore him now, progress through the game, kill the sunshine maggot as the tutorial explains later, and then return to Solaire to finish his goal.
Go ahead and talk to Solaire if you'd like, but things get serious after this. Solaire is hostile if you take the usual path to Lost Izalith; you may either kill him or leave him there to suffer in his own insanity. That is not what we desire.
Please take note that you must either have the poison mist and pyromancer flame pyromancy or join the covenant of the Daughter of Chaos and have it at +2. Continue reading if you already have them. If not, go on to the next part where I walk you through doing both. It's true that nobody ever said that preserving Solaire would be simple.
So let's take a diversion from the Demon Ruins to Lost Izalith rather than travelling the conventional path. The Demon Firesage is hidden behind a huge fog gate that you reach at the finish of your passage through the Demon Ruins. There is a shortcut that leads down to a massive door on the right, before the fog wall. You reach a large entrance by following the branches of the tree down.
The door will open for you if you are a member of the Daughter of Chaos' covenant and have it levelled to +2. Happy days. Go through there and eliminate every single bug. None of them should be left alive. Look, I'm a vegetarian, but these are important occasionally.
You must have both the poison mist and pyromancy flame equipped if you are not a Daughter of Chaos +2. I have found that this strategy has been effective twice and unsuccessful once. I'm not sure what went wrong that one time, so use caution.
Proceed to the middle of the door, inhale the poisonous mist until you begin to harm an object on the other side, and continue until it perishes. After you're dead, you may continue exploring the Demon Ruins, battle the Demon Firesage (if necessary, with assistance from our Dark Souls bosses guide), and take the longer path to make sure you collect all the goodies along the way.
How to Become a member of the Daughter of Chaos's covenant
(Note: make sure you have 30 extra human beings before proceeding on this path). Once Quelaag has been vanquished, you may access the second bell lever. You enter a chamber with walls covered with eggs when you ring the bell and down the stairs, or you may simply leap through the hole on the floor. A portal exists, but stay out of it.
Turn right if you're facing this entryway; all of the eggs have an odd gap in them. This place has an imaginary wall. When you hit it, Eingyi appears first. Accept his advances so you may go through and see the Fair Lady. You may now start the process of saving Solaire by giving her 30 humanity so she can level up to +2 and join the Daughter of Chaos' covenant.
Fun fact time: wear the Old Witch's Ring to hear what the White Witch has to say if you have it (more on that in our Dark Souls rings guide). Funny enough, you just murdered Quelaag, her sister, who she thinks is you. Isn't Dark Souls beautiful?
How to get poison mist and flaming pyromancy
The pyromancy flame weapon may be obtained in three different ways. Choosing to begin the game as a pyromancer is the simplest method. You're ready to go, simple peasy. Preserving Laurentius in the deep is the second option. The third is to speak to Eingyi at the secret portal to the Daughter of Chaos, which I won't describe since it is much, far tougher than just rescuing Laurentius. Just do that. You also need to have twelve intelligence and be infected with egghead.
Descend the steps outside the Capra Demon boss area in the Lower Undead Burg to rescue Laurentius in the depths. Once you've descended all the way, you must battle the Capra Demon in order to use the Key to the Depths to open a door.
After descending the first flight of steps, bear left and down the second flight. While keeping an eye out for the many opponents, go ahead and to the right to locate another set of stairs in an open area. From there, navigate the space filled with tables and benches in the direction of the stairs that lead down. In diagonal opposition to the other pair you just descended are these.
Put your head down and take on the insane chef and the dog. Go under the sea and defeat more canines. Proceed to the rear wall and pass through the sizable opening. Make a left turn and come inside to meet Laurentius. Roll him through the barrels to release him (DO NOT use your weapon, as you risk inciting a violent reaction from him). Talk to him until the pyromancy flame appears on your screen.
Start at the Blighttown swamp bonfire to get the poison mist pyromancy. Once you emerge from the tunnel, continue straight ahead until you come to the obstruction in the wall. Proceed to the left and get the shining object. You now possess both the torn cloth armour set and the poison mist pyromancy. Cheers!
The end of Dark Souls Solaire
In Dark Souls' ultimate boss battle, you may call upon Solaire if you adhere to the previously mentioned requirements. Having the warrior of sunlight battle Gwyn and help other undead is potent for a variety of folklore reasons. He is under the covenant that the god of war, Gwyn's son, is watching over. And the very fact that Solaire is with you in the end, whether it's him or someone else, offers him the opportunity to connect the flame in his own universe and usher in a new era of fire. It seems appropriate.
