Wanderer is a powerful DPS character with five stars who specializes on emotional catalysts. With his very special equipment, he can hover above opponents and use strong AoE regular and charged strikes to close the distance.

Tulaytullah's Remembrance is Wanderer's greatest weapon, and Desert Pavilion Chronicle is his finest artifact set. In terms of stats, increased attack% and crit are his biggest advantages.

We advise you to level your Wanderer's elemental burst after you have leveled his regular attack and elemental skill, assuming he is at C0-C1. But if he's at C2-C6, you should use his elemental burst and regular attack more than his elemental talent.

Though he finds it difficult to compete with other anemo characters in terms of grouping, Wanderer is highly adaptable when it comes to team formation. Generally speaking, he performs best in single-target combat or exploration and is most suited for a hypercarry position.

How to Make Use of Wanderer

Generally speaking, his distinct, aerial playstyle is the major aspect of his equipment that you will need to get used to; this may need some practice.Recall that you must pay attention to his particular stamina meeting when floating, and that you may utilize his Gales of Reverie passive to either avoid or cancel his animations.

To grasp Wanderer's gameplay, there are a few key concepts you must grasp. Prior to switching to Wanderer and using his burst, you must first activate all of the buffs, shields, and healing from his supports.

Use his skill to enter the Windfavored condition and begin attacking while in burst mode. Either either before or right after entering the Windfavored condition, he should launch a charged attack if he is employing the whole set of Desert Pavilion Chronicle. After that, you may use both charged and regular attack combinations until his burst's duration expires. And then begin the process again!

Remember that using his skill before to his burst will cause his burst to cancel Windfavored status. For maximum damage, it is crucial to utilize his burst before using his ability .

Wanderer's standard attack may be used in three major combinations.

  • Three consecutive normal attacks – this is his full normal attack chain, most effective when used with normal attack buffs and the weapons Tulaytullah’s Remembrance or Solar Pearl. If you want additional swirls, you can also tack one charged attack after the three normal attacks
  • Two normal attacks -> one charged attack – most effective when using weapons that buff both normal and charged attacks or neither, good for consistent double swirls
  • All charged attacks – during Windfavored state, Wanderer’s charged attacks don’t consume stamina, so you can use them continuously, and you can even cancel his charged attack animation with another charged attack. This is the best combo if Wanderer is using Dodoco Tales – just remember to use a normal attack every 5-6 seconds to keep the buff persistent

Visit the incredible Keqingmains Wanderer guide for additional information, stat breakdowns for each of these combinations and rotations, and to see some fantastic experimental builds.

Which weapons work best with Wanderer?

The greatest in-slot choice available to Wanderer is without a doubt Tulaytullah's Remembrance, his very own hallmark weapon. It improves his regular attacks and increases his crit damage, which goes quite well with his kit.Wanderer benefits greatly from Memory of Dust when he plays with a team sans Bennett, although it does work best when he is partnered with a shielder like Zhongli. For optimal results, use Wanderer's skill first and then his burst towards the end of its airtime if you choose this choice.

As an alternative, Both Skyward Atlas and Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds are potent five-star alternatives, with Lost Prayer's passive providing somewhat more value. Since Skyward Atlas is a part of the normal five-star pool, it is somewhat simpler to get, but if Wanderer is on a team that strengthens his attack outside, its worth decreases.

A few strong choices for a four-star weapon include Solar Pearl , Dodoco Tales, and The Widsith. Although it has a lower damage output ceiling than the other two, Solar Pearl is the most dependable of the three.

If you're fortunate enough to get a copy of the Dodoco Tales event-exclusive weapon and decide to give it to Wanderer, be aware that you will need to adjust to a comfy charged attack combination in which you must weave in a regular attack every six seconds in order to maintain the buffs.

Desert Pavillion Chronicle is the ideal artifact set for Wanderer as it fits his kit well and increases his attack speed, anemo damage, and regular attack damage.

If no one else on his squad is using it, Viridescent Venerer is also a fantastic choice since it provides a team-wide boon that annihilates opposing resistances. Shimenawa's Memory, on the other hand, is a useful choice if you want to significantly increase his personal harm.

Priorities for artifact stats and sub-stats

In your quest for Wanderer's artifacts, you need to focus on a few key statistics. Depending on how often you want him to explode and if he has another anemo character on his squad, his energy recharge needs change.

Without Faruzan, he requires around 160% energy recharge to burst every rotation in a double anemo squad, and roughly 100% to burst every other rotation. He will take 20–30% less energy to recharge if you combine him with a C6 Faruzan.

Use Zakharov's Energy Recharge Calculator to get a more precise figure depending on your particular squad.

Principal statistics:
  • Sands: attack%
  • Goblet:  anemo damage
  • Circlet: crit rate/damage
Sub-stats:

Which Wanderer teams are the best?

Wanderer is a DPS that needs a lot of field time, therefore his greatest teams usually center around getting him more assistance and doing more personal damage.Due to his vulnerability to attack disruptions, having a shielder on his squad to stop opponents from taking him down while he's in the air is quite beneficial.Bennett is a fantastic healer and offensive boost, making him an extremely useful support for Wanderer teams. If you time it correctly, he also offers Wanderer pyro infusion, which increases the potency of his strike even more.Another noteworthy teammate is Faruzan, whose gear is expressly designed to help him.She does need higher constellations to counter some of her flaws, like her high burst cost and low particle generation, but even at lower constellations, she can still be an excellent Viridescent Venerer holder, boost his anemo damage, and tear apart enemy anemo resistance. The greatest shielder in the game, Zhongli provides Wanderer with a significant deal of value in the form of his potent shield and all-around resistance shred. However, you may use Thoma, Layla, or Diona to provide those shields if you don't have Zhongli or are utilizing him on a different team.

These are a few of our current favorite Wanderer teams, which are centered on shielding him and increasing his damage. Click on any of the character icons below to see the corresponding build guidelines.

What skills does Wanderer possess?

All of Wanderer's abilities are listed here.Ability to act:
Skill Effect
Normal attack: Yuuban Meigen Normal: perform up to three attacks using wind blades, dealing anemo damage
Charged: consume stamina to gather a build-up of high wind pressure, dealing AoE anemo damage after a short casting time
Plunge: plunge towards the ground from mid-air, damaging all opponents in your path and dealing anemo damage upon impact with the ground
Elemental skill: Hanega: Song of the Wind Deal AoE anemo damage before leaping into the air and entering the Windfavored state. Wanderer can’t perform plunging attacks in this state. When he uses normal and charged attacks during this state, they convert into Kuugo: Fushoudan and Kuugo: Toufukai respectively, dealing increased damage over a wider AoE. Their attack is considered normal and charged attack respectively, and Kuugo: Toufukai doesn’t consume stamina. Wanderer hovers persistently throughout this state, and his movements gain the following properties:
  • he persistently consumes Kuurgoryoku points to keep hovering
  • when he sprints, he consumes additional Kuurgoryoku points and accelerates mid-air. If you hold sprint, he persistently consumes Kuugoryoku points to maintain speed (this replaces his default sprint)
  • if he jumps, he consumes more Kuugoryoku points to increase his hovering height. If you hold jump, he persistently consumes Kuugoryoku points to keep increasing his hovering height

When Wanderer runs out of Kuugoryoku points or uses his skill again, the Windfavored state ends

Elemental burst: Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays Wanderer compresses the atmosphere into a singular vacuum that deals multiple instances of AoE anemo damage. Dispels the Windfavored state if it’s active when he casts it
Skills in passivity:
Skill Effect
Strum the Swirling Winds Decreases the mora it costs to ascend bows and catalysts by 50%
Jade-Claimed Flower If Hanega: Song of the Winds comes into contact with hydro, pyro, cryo, or electro, this instance of the Windfavored state obtains buffs depending on the element it interacts with:
  • Hydro: increases the Kuurgoryoku point cap by 20
  • Pyro: increases attack by 30%
  • Cryo: increases crit rate by 20%
  • Electro: restore 0.8 energy when normal and charged attacks hit opponents. You can restore energy this way once every 0.2 seconds

You can have up to two of these buffs at any one time

Gales of Reverie When Wanderer hits opponents with Kuugo: Fushoudan or Kuugo: Tougukai while in Windfavored state, he has a 16% chance to obtain the Descent effect. When under the Descent effect, the next time Wanderer accelerates in mid-air during this instance of Windfavored state, the effect expires, this acceleration instance doesn’t consume any Kuugoryoku points, and he fires off four wind arrows that deal 35% of his attack as anemo damage. For each Kuugo: Fushoudan and Kuugo: Toufukai that doesn’t produce this effect, the next attack of those types has a 12% increases chance of triggering it. The calculation of this effect occurs once every 0.1 seconds
