Characters from Resident Evil
Since its original release in the 1990s, Resident Evil has grown to become a beloved horror game, a benchmark for eerie console games, and just one of the most charming in the series. Nobody has an excuse not to play this amazing game now that the classic was brilliantly remade on the Gamecube a few years later. You may wish to familiarise yourself with the Resident Evil characters beforehand if you're just delving in.
In addition to discussing the key characters from the original Resident Evil game and its remake, this guide also delves into the main characters from the several additional games that have been released over the years. We'll include everyone who appears often and is significant to the Umbrella tale here. We apologise if we missed your favourite character; nevertheless, there are a lot of characters in this long-running series, and we want to add more to this guide in the future.
Now let's explore our guide to Resident Evil characters.
Characters from Resident Evil
Redfield Chris
Chris Redfield, a 1973 native, is one of the two playable protagonists in the first Resident Evil game and a pivotal figure in all of the events leading up to it. Chris is a big guy who gets by by using his strength and quickness. Chris faces more adversaries in Resident Evil (1996), and they're all more formidable than they were in Jill's playthrough. He may be more formidable, but the game makes up for it by making the journey more difficult. Additionally, the flamethrower is only accessible via Chris's narrative route.
Prior to being hired by STARS (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) in Raccoon City, Chris was employed by the Air Force. Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil Revelations, Resident Evil 7 DLC, and Resident Evil Village all include playable versions of Chris after the events at the Spencer Mansion.
Check out ourResident Evil Chris guide if you'd want to learn even more about this legendary figure.
Valentine Jill
Jill Valentine, who was born in 1974, is one of the two playable protagonists in the first Resident Evil game and a pivotal figure in the narrative. Albert Wesker brought her into STARS just before the Spencer Mansion incident in 1996, and she has been important to most bioweapons and bioterrorism incidents since then. She is strong, intelligent, and has shown time and time again that she has a kind heart and will go above and beyond to defend others when she can.
Jill Valentine, who appears in many novels, is the focal point of everything. She makes appearances in Resident Evil (1996) and its remake, Resident Evil 3 (and its remake), Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and Resident Evil: Revelations. She is also playable in Resident Evil: Revelations. She is a significant character in Resident Evil 5, despite not being playable. Unlike Chris Redfield, she hasn't been seen in canonical form in a while, so maybe more titles will wrap up her tale.

Albert Wesker
Albert Wesker, a 1960s native, first appears in the first Resident Evil as a member of STARS, but it soon becomes clear that he is much more complex than meets the eye. Wesker has a close relationship with the Umbrella Corporation, having been chosen as a young apprentice with the goal of working for the firm forever. Since then, he has been involved in a variety of bioweapon events behind the scenes. He has even experimented on himself, giving him superhuman skills and capabilities via the impacts of bioweapons like the T-Virus.
Albert Wesker appears in Resident Evil (1996), Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, and Resident Evil 6. He is seldom playable outside of mercenary mode, yet he still appears more often than bread. In addition, he has made appearances in almost all of the Resident Evil film adaptations. Most recently, he portrayed Lance Reddick in the Resident Evil Netflix series.

Barry Burton
Barry Burton joined STARS in 1996. He was born in 1960. Barry, who was in the Air Force before, is married to Kathy and has two kids, Moira and Polly. Later on, in Resident Evil Revelations 2, Moira makes her own appearance. After becoming close friends with Chris Redfield while employed by STARS, Barry went on to specialise in weaponry and ultimately joined the BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance), a military organisation.
Barry appears in a couple more Resident Evil games, including Resident Evil 5, and may be played as a playable character in Resident Evil Revelations 2, although not being as active as some other characters. In RER2, Barry is seen looking for his daughter Moira, who has been abducted by a terrorist group. When he finds her, he teams up with a little child who has unexplained psychic abilities to find her.
Brad Vickers
Brad Vickers, who was born in 1963, was among the original members of STARS who were engaged in the Spencer Mansion incident. Although little is known about his war experience or training, we do know that he was an accomplished pilot and computer specialist. Vickers was soon overwhelmed by the circumstances when he arrived to the estate to look for missing STARS members, so he sped off in the helicopter, leaving the surviving members without their gear.
After calming down eventually, Vickers takes off and flies above the region till dawn, dropping a rocket launcher to aid the STARS team in their fight against the Tyrant, a superhuman zombie. In Resident Evil 3, Brad Vickers reappears for a little while, although his appearance is fleeting.
Joseph Frost
Joseph Frost was a bright, upbeat individual who loved risk. He was born in 1971 and was one of the initial STARS members at the Spencer Mansion incident. It is Joseph who finds Kevin Dooley's corpse after arriving at the site. Kevin Dooley was the STARS pilot on the prior trip. Soon later, in an attempt to get more information, Frost flees into the forest, only to be ambushed and brutally disfigured by the Cerberus, a group of undead dogs. None of the other Resident Evil games include him.
