Xenoblade Chronicles 3 universeThe Xenoblade universe was openly shown, including a variety of worldbuilding and adventure elements. Numerous iconic Xenoblade elements are back, including large, sweeping landscapes and enormous creatures that are kilometers beyond you, in addition to other series mainstays.Along with an enhanced navigation system that lets you plot a path on the ground to aid in your navigation, landmarks have returned to enable for faster travel. As previously, you may also locate different creatures depending on the time of day. Some new elements include the two warring countries of Keves and Agnus, who are shown fighting it out on the overworld map because they are at odds from the beginning of the game. Additionally, it seems that the XC1 spider web of NPCs is returning, revealing the connections among all the people you encounter (albeit it was shown for a short while, so it may be something else entirely). There are colonies throughout the huge planet; these are big centers with plenty of people to meet and activities to do, including dining and shopping. Additionally, there are camps, which are tinier locations where you may prepare meals and converse with your group about everything that's happening. Combat in Xenoblade Chronicles 3

is seeing a lot of items return. Auto-battle is a feature that increases your energy so you may utilize arts, which are powerful special attacks with unique effects and a high damage output. Chain strikes are also returned, allowing you to mix and match various arts as long as they work well together. The break/topple/launch/smash combo system is also back, allowing you to deal significant damage and status effects based on the sequence and combination of arts used. Master arts, which may be switched across classes to allow attackers to heal or shielders to attack, were also shown to us for the first time. You can also perform a fusion art attack, which is the combining of two arts into one.We were given a second look at the new roles system, which divides your team into healers, defenders, and attackers. You got it—attackers are all about big damage. Due to their increased aggression, defenders may lure in enemies and absorb their damage. Healers, well, they keep your team running by healing (and buffing) them. A fitting moniker is an understatement. There are several classes available, and each one has a new duty from the list above. Look them all over:
  • Swordfighter – a well-balanced attacker
  • Zephyr – good at evasion and counter-attacking
  • Medic gunner – heals and buffs allies
  • Tactician – disrupts enemies and supports allies
  • Heavy guard – big weapons to absorb attacks
  • Ogre – big hammer! big hammer! big hammer!
A pool of people that you encounter during the game may also be used to add a seventh party member, each of whom brings special classes of their own. It essentially serves as a substitute for Xenoblade Chronicles 2's blades system. A few were described in full in the direct:
  • Guardian commander – defender
  • Incursor – high critical damage
  • War medic – heals and buffs allies
Every class is allowed to wear each other's clothes as well, so you may dress your group alike or uniquely, depending on your preferences. There was also a considerable amount of information about the Ouroboros system; for more details, see our guide on Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Ouroboros. It's interesting to note that when they provide the choices to them, one hero is blurry, as Stealth pointed out rather nicely. Who would it be, I wonder?
