Geralt from The Witcher 3

Come on, we all know who Geralt is by now—the towering, sultry, white-haired guy who also happens to be the series' main Witcher. Even though the ceremony that turned him into a Witcher robbed him of his ability to think emotionally, he nonetheless exhibits feelings, particularly in the close relationships he has with people around him. But killing creatures is the primary duty of a Witcher, and Geralt is an excellent at it.

In The Witcher 3, Geralt embarks on yet another perilous journey to find his adoptive daughter Ciri, who is being sought after by the Wild Hunt. See our The Witcher 3 Geralt guide to learn more about the silver-haired wolf.

Curi 3 The Witcher

Ciri, Geralt's adoptive daughter, trained with him in the witcher keep of Kaer Morhen when she was younger and became entangled with him via the Law of Surprise. After activating her talents and alerting the Wild Hunt to her elder blood, she was forced to run and was subsequently taken in by the Bloody Baron.

The main plot of The Witcher 3 is on Geralt tracking down Ciri as she runs from the Wild Hunt and their final reunion in the face of certain death. For further information, see our The Witcher 3 Ciri guide.

Yennefer, The Witcher 3

Yennefer of Vengerberg, a gifted sorceress with a complicated relationship with Geralt, is a recurring character in the Witcher series. Yen is a very strong-willed lady with a gift for persuading others to support her in her endeavours. She is well-known around the country for her amazing abilities and her firm hold on her own destiny.

In The Witcher 3, after helping Geralt once again in his quest to find Ciri, Yennefer consents to assist the Emperor in finding Ciri after regaining most of her memories. See our The Witcher 3 Yennefer guide to learn more about this feisty sorceress.

Triss for The Witcher 3

Triss Merigold, a prominent figure in the Witcher realm, with exceptional sorcery skills. She is skilled in healing magic and often carries a large supply of magical medicines, but she is allergic to magic, thus she is never able to use them herself. She was romantically involved with Geralt in the past, therefore she has strong links to both of them.

She is seen by The Witcher 3 holed up in Novigrad, aiding other mages under attack by Radvoid's men and the witch hunters. She strikes a deal with the King of Beggars, giving his group magic services in exchange for his protection. She pledges to use every resource at her disposal to support Geralt as he looks for Ciri.

See our The Witcher 3 Triss guide to learn more about the red-haired witch.

Dandelion (Jaskier) from The Witcher 3

Dandelion is a poet, bard, minstrel, and all-around fantastic guy. He goes by Jaskier in both the original Polish version and the Netflix adaptation. Despite Geralt's occasional lack of happiness, he is also the closest buddy of Geralt. Dandelion, who has a reputation for being a womaniser, is always pursuing women and often finds himself in awkward circumstances as a consequence.

After travelling far and wide in the previous games, Dandelion seems to be somewhat settling down in The Witcher 3. Together with his old friend Zoltan, he co-owns Rosemary & Thyme, a bar in Novigard.

The Witcher 3 Roach

If a dog is a man's best friend, then a Witcher's best buddy is unquestionably a horse. Despite his love for mares, Geralt names all of his horses "Roach." The chestnut mare Roach, who goes everywhere with him in The Witcher 3, makes navigating the landscape a lot simpler.

She can travel quickly and boldly across the war-torn globe with to her saddles and blingers, but when she gets terrified, she's known to rear up and throw Geralt to the ground. She can also sometimes climb the closest roof. Luckily, she quickly returns to trotting cheerfully along with a swift Axii or some distance between her and the beastie that scared her.

Vesemir, The Witcher 3

As the most seasoned and elderly sorcerer of Kaer Morhen, Vesemir serves as a paternal figure to Geralt and the other sorcerers. Being a fencing teacher at the time, he lacked the expertise essential to develop fresh mutagens to transform more boys into witchers, despite being one of the few witchers who survived the attack on Kaer Morhen.

He is a pivotal figure in The Witcher 3, starting the narrative with Geralt as they seek the war-torn continent of Temeria for Yennefer.
