This year's Time100 features Scopely because of Monopoly Go.
The business Scopely, which created popular mobile games like Strike Force and Monopoly Go, is included among the most important companies of the year on Time100, among industry titans like Google and AirBnB.
The trademark belongs to the category of "Innovators." Other notable businesses in this sector include Google, AMD, and Huawei. Epic Games is the other video game firm to crack the top 100; the Fortnite inventor is categorized as a "Pioneer" on this list. The whole list is available here.
After being acquired in 2023 for $4.9 billion, one of the largest transactions in the gaming industry to date (coming in at just $2.6 billion less than the Microsoft Bethesda acquisition), Scopely is now recognized by time and by the global gaming community for shaping the future of play and being a key figure in the mobile gaming industry.
Monopoly Go and smartphone games are keeping the business afloat even if hardware sales may be down this year due to everyone's excitement about the debut of the Switch 2. When Monopoly Go was released in 2023, Scopely saw tremendous success. Within a year, 150 million downloads of the game had brought in over $2 billion.
"Immensely proud of this honor, which not only recognizes how far we've come and what our fantastic team of Scopeleans has achieved, but also highlights the enduring love of game experiences that connect people around the globe," said co-CEO Walter Driver on behalf of the company. Stumble Guys and Marvel Strike Force are two more Scopely games.
Since we like Scopely's game as much as you do, we've created a special website with free Monopoly Go dice for you to refer to in addition to a Monopoly Go wiki.
