Nintendo pulls back on supporting Mario Kart Tour.
Even though it's said that all good things must end, this one seems to be ending a little too soon. Today, Nintendo said that the Mario Kart Tour ending is rapidly approaching. After more than four years of operation, Nintendo has announced that it would no longer be supporting Tour in a statement released by the company in October. You already own a lot of the greatest Mario Kart tracks.
Over time, Nintendo made significant content additions to Mario Kart Tour; several of the greatest circuits from the mobile game were even included in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course DLC. The Battle Tour, which will launch on October 4, 2023, is the last new feature for Mario Kart Tour. Characters and objects from past tours will be included in all material after this.
Although disappointing, this is not totally unexpected given that Nintendo has previously discontinued support for mobile games like Dr. Mario World, Miitomo, and Dragalia Lost. In order for players to continue racing and take advantage of the several unique circuits that are still exclusive to Mario Kart Tour, we hope that Nintendo keeps the servers running. In the meanwhile, it seems that smartphone games Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Fire Emblem Heroes are still popular. At least for the time being.
