An anime adaptation of one of the most played mobile games worldwide is in the works.
It has been disclosed by Kadokawa Corporation that it is now developing the anime series Garena Free Fire. The mobile game adaptation is being co-funded by Kadokawa and Garena, while the development of the anime is being overseen by Aohane Kadokawa, a Chinese subsidiary.
We still have to wait for more information on the Genshin Impact anime, but Garena Free Fire has given us hope for another mobile game TV adaptation. As per data.ai, this battle royale game has over 100 million daily active users, making it one of the most downloaded games globally.. Since the game has already worked with Demon Slayer, One Punch Man, and Attack on Titan, Free Fire's followers are no strangers to anime, thus the IP will feel perfectly at home beside them.
With almost 400 series, OVAs, and movie production credits to her name, Kadokawa is by no means a rookie to the anime world either, according to MyAnimeList. The cult classic isekai series KonoSuba and its spin-offs, the immensely popular Oshi no Ko, and the anime films Your Name and Weathering With You are just a few of the studio's noteworthy productions.
