Paimon's Impact Questions on Genshin

Genshin Impact presents Questions with Paimon, an event where participants take a quiz to win awesome freebies. Although there isn't currently a Questions with Paimon event, you can find out when one is happening by following our guide on Genshin Impact events.

Is Paimon from Genshin Impact evil?

It's understandable that many of you have inquired about Paimon's malevolent nature. Even while it's difficult to see the half-pint, squeaky-voiced, fairy-critter using any weapons or thinking of any really cunning plans that don't include food, there are a few elements that make us wonder.

The name of Pascal

First of all, her name. If you've seen the terrifying horror-drama Hereditary by Ari Aster, you'll probably identify Paimon as more than just an adorable (and a little irritating) ethereal creature. According to the ancient book Ars Goetia, Paimon, the ninth pillar and the most submissive ruler of hell, would bestow money and wisdom to his mortal disciples. (Paimon's deals and her fixation with Mora, anyone?). In addition, Paimon of Genshin Impact is wearing a crown—something that a king of the underworld would surely do as well.

Not only that, but Genshin Impact Paimon's white hair and pale complexion match the description of the demon Paimon, who is claimed to be albino. Nevertheless, he is also reputed to have a loud, booming voice—quite the contrary of our emergency food turned friend.

But keep in mind that a number of the archons in the game have names derived from demons. For instance, Barbatos, the archon form of Genshin Impact's Venti, also appears in Ars Goetia as the Great Duke and Earl of Hell in addition to being the ninth pillar. Furthermore, the idea of demons is seen differently in various cultures; in Eastern mythology, the demonic and evil are not always synonymous.

The fact that gods and archons in the game go by names of demonic provenance, such Morax, Baal, Barbatos, and Paimon, suggests that these names have some kind of importance. It may even imply that Paimon is another deity rather than demonstrating her malevolent nature. But a deity of precisely what?

The history of Pokémon

In addition, Paimon's origin and history are shrouded in mystery. To be honest, the manner the Genshin Impact Traveler first encounters Paimon is a bit strange. They both seem puzzled of how they wound up together and eventually just attribute it to destiny. They fish her out of a pond. Paimon is quite educated about Teyvat, but after this, we get very little out about her origins. In another tidbit of conversation during one of the archon missions, it is hinted that Paimon recalls a battle that took place more than a millennium ago, implying that she is, in fact, as ancient as some of the archons themselves.

Furthermore, it's never stated how she uses the handy clock tool in the menu to manipulate and freeze time, which may support her deity status even more. In reference to the guiding spirits we see floating about Teyvat, some of her fans have even speculated that she could be the last surviving sealie. Her function as a guide, stature, flying abilities, design, and her fixation with riches all serve to highlight this.

Is Paimon the Unidentified Deity?

Whether Paimon is the Unknown God is another major topic that's been circling the Genshin group. In case you forgot, the Unknown God is the one who split off the Traveller and their sibling at the start of the game. Because of her enigmatic look and sinister demeanour, she is regarded as the main antagonist of Genshin Impact.

The first distinctive visual characteristic that Paimon and the Unknown God have in common is the constellation-inspired geometric patterns on the bottom of her scarf or cloak. These are likewise on the cape of the Unknown God; however, they are a deep crimson colour rather than blue and purple. In addition, Paimon's hair item resembles the gateway from which the Unknown God emerges in the opening cinematic.

The floating pillar region where the Traveller first sees the Unknown God is the identical one that shows up on the game's login screen. There are golden crests here on the top and bottom of the pillars that resemble Paimon's clothing. Furthermore, the Unknown God refers to the Travellers as "outlanders," suggesting that she is a native of Teyvat, and based on her extensive knowledge of the region, it seems Paimon is as well.

The magic of the Unknown God and Paimon, however, differs substantially; the Unknown God's power appears as uniform red cubes, whereas Paimon's appears as stars of various forms. In addition, Paimon is considerably more concerned in food and riches than in maintaining heavenly principles—which seems to be the Unknown God's primary motivation—and the blue, starry design of his cape is often connected to the Abyss order, who are inherently hostile to the gods.

This offers a different theory: is it possible that Paimon and the Unknown God are connected but not the same? It's unclear whether she comes from the might of the Unknown God, a relative, or something else entirely, but it's definitely something to consider. Our only concern is that, by flying with Paimon, we won't inadvertently be carrying a surveillance camera that feeds directly to the Unknown God.

Impact Paimon boss Genshin

Over the last year, a screenshot and brief video of what looks to be a boss fight between Paimon and the Traveller have gone viral, sparking a lot of controversy among the Genshin community. Regretfully, the internet is adept at disseminating rumours without first verifying their accuracy, and that is exactly what occurred in this case—the video is essentially a fan edit. Although this is stated at the conclusion of the film, it has been edited out of the viral footage, which has led many people to think that the leak was authentic.

But as players of Black Desert Online may know, it's not out of the question that the Traveller and Paimon face off as the game's ultimate monster. Even though Paimon is little, her fighting style, strength, and other attributes are all known to her. Her potential is yet unknown, but she would be a formidable foe none the less. In addition, she undoubtedly harbours intense resentment for all the occasions we had to call for emergency food.

Since a large portion of the game revolves on our small flying companion, Paimon, we believe it improbable that she has darker (or nefarious) motivations. If she did turn out to be wicked, however, who would take over as manager of Paimon's discount store? When a task requires us to wait 12 in-game hours to finish, who would let us skip time? It seems like this curveball would need a lot of effort to accommodate.
