Estimated release date for the next Pokémon game

Update: The Nintendo Switch title Pokémon Legends: Z-A, a follow-up to 2022's Pokémon Arceus, has been revealed.

After being teased on the most recent Pokémon Presents live, we may anticipate seeing this brand-new Pokémon game sometime in 2025. This most recent installment, which is situated in Lumiose City and aims to build on the enormous popularity of Arceus, will transport us back to the Kalos area.

Although we don't currently have a verified release date or any other specific details, it's feasible that Nintendo may release a new Pokémon game in late 2024 at the latest.Having said that, the Nintendo Switch 2 is anticipated to launch in late 2024. It seems likely that Nintendo would release a new game from one of its three major IPs as the headline title for the next generation of consoles, much as Breath of the Wild did for the Switch in 2017. That being considered, a 2024 release date does sound a little ambitious, especially since we haven't heard anything about the progress of any new Pokémon games.

When Scarlet and Violet first came out, one of the main criticisms levelled at the unfinished game was that it seemed like development had been done too quickly, leaving the open world concept seeming hollow and the graphics and storyline lacking. The next Pokémon game will most likely take a while to produce since Nintendo won't want to deal with the same complaints again. around light of this, it would seem logical to anticipate that the next Pokémon game would launch around late 2025.

All of this, of course, is related to the recently released mainstream game in the series. Nintendo could release a spin-off game in the lead-up to Generation 10. This might be a new game in the Let's Go and Mystery Dungeon series, or it could be the much anticipated remakes of Gold and Silver, X and Y, and Black and White. It could also be additional mobile fun akin to Pokémon Unite. To be very honest, however, we anticipate that all efforts will be directed towards creating Gen 10, the next major chapter, with the possible exception of concurrent remake work.

When is the next Pokémon Day?

February 27, 2024, is Pokémon Day. and we want to learn more about all of the impending initiatives that are being worked on. Though we really hope so, we cannot promise that a new Pokémon game will be revealed.

New projections for Pokémon gameplay

It's likely that Game Freak will focus even more on the 3D open-world gaming style, thus Gen 10 will likely go on where Scarlet and Violet left off. For better or worse, Pokémon is trying to change and adapt to the current gaming environment, thus the days of having fun in 2D are gone.

It's unclear what new features the developer will include to Gen 10, however, since almost every Pokémon game has a gameplay gimmick (X and Y had Mega Evolutions, Scarlet and Violet had Terastallization, etc.). That being said, rather of attempting to create another gimmick, Gen 10 should, in our opinion and experience, take a look back at Pokémon's past for this. Rather of always striving to create something new, why not revamp Gigantamax or extend Mega Evolution to a larger pool of Pokémon? This more retrospective approach would make sense for Generation 10, a significant turning point in the franchise's history, as a celebration of Pokémon's past spanning many decades.

There are many things that are safe to take for granted apart from that. As the Pokedex grows, players will be able to experience new Pokémon designs, personalities, and three brand-new beginning Pokémon. Certain things are never changing and never should.

That concludes our discussion on the potential for a future Pokémon game. See our listings of the most recent Pokémon Go codes and Pokémon Unite codes for further information. Alternatively, you may see our selection of the top mobile games.
