Pokémon BDSP Underground: How to Unlock

the subterranean guy of Pokémon BDSP

Speaking with the subterranean Man—who, however, isn't subterranean at all—is the first step towards opening the Grand Underground in Pokémon BDSP. To locate him, go to Eterna City and go to the residence to the right of the Pokémon Center. He will offer you an Explorer Kit and give you a brief rundown on how to utilize it once you speak with him. You are then free to explore the Grand Underground.

Map of the Pokémon BDSP underground

Divided into six distinct zones, the Grand Underground is more expansive than the original Underground seen in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Pokémon Diglett and Dugtrio from the BDSP underworld

The Diglett feature is a cool new element that was added to the Pokémon BDSP underworld. At intersections and turns in the tunnels, you may sometimes run across Diglett and Dugtrio. When you notice them, they will flee, leaving three points for Dugtrio and one point for Diglett.Your odds of finding a shiny Pokémon rise if you can collect 40 points in one Underground session. You'll also get a nice four-minute boost. The encounter rate of shiny Pokémon increases from one in 4096 to one in 2048.You also have a 100% chance of unearthing a stunning box containing a glittering statue. As soon as you unearth three exquisite stone boxes, this chance enhancement expires.

Subterranean Pokémon BDSP hideouts

The Hideaway system in Pokémon BDSP is a completely new feature. These are distinct biomes that emerge underground, where you may locate a range of uncommon Pokémon exclusive to that kind of biome. Many of these creatures are unique to their hiding places, and it's possible that they'll arrive pre-packaged with one of their egg movements. In different subterranean hideaways, new Pokémon will spawn based on different unlock criteria. They are as follows:
  • Strength – Obtain the strength HM from the Lost Tower on Route 209
  • Defog – Obtain the defog HM from the Great Marsh in Pastoria City
  • Seven badges – get your seventh badge from Candice at the gym in Snowpoint City
  • Waterfall – Talk to Jasmine in Sunyshore city after you get your eighth badge from Volkner
  • National – see all 150 Sinnoh Dex Pokémon and unlock the National Dex
It's also possible to come across a rare spawn—a Pokémon that isn't listed in the Sinnoh Pokédex—when you enter a hideaway.

Digging for Pokémon BDSP underground

In Pokémon BDSP, digging is back and remains almost unaltered. All you have to do is utilize your radar to identify locations that can be dug up while exploring the Grand Underground. This will launch a little game. You can find out how many objects are hidden in the square on the screen by playing the minigame. After then, it's up to you to use the sledgehammer and pickaxe included in your Explorer Kit to search for the treasure! While the pickaxe chips away little bits of rock with relatively little damage to the walls, the sledgehammer removes bigger slabs of rock more quickly but also causes the walls to collapse faster.A crack that serves as a meter is located at the top of the screen. The walls will fall down and you'll be able to take possession of the treasures you've unearthed when the crack extends all the way to the left. Look through the listings below to discover what's available.

Locations of Pokémon BDSP subterranean NPCs

After setting an Odd Keystone in the Hallowed Tower, you must speak with 32 different NPCs in the Grand Underground as part of the questline required to unlock Spiritbomb. We don't have a map of the NPC locations since they spawn at random, so you'll have to do some research! Additionally, things sold by Hikers and Sphere Traders are not included in your total.

Pokémon BDSP subterranean hidden base

Secret bases are recognizable to those who have played the earlier games, although the Pokémon BDSP subterranean secret base has undergone several changes. You just need to utilize the digging drill item anyplace underground to construct your covert fortress. If you buy another drilling drill from an underground dealer, you may relocate it whenever you like. Additionally, vendors may increase your hidden base for the following fees.First expansion:
  • 60 red sphere S
  • 60 blue sphere S
  • 60 green sphere S
  • 30 prism sphere S
  • 30 pale sphere S
Second expansion:
  • 40 red sphere L
  • 40 blue sphere L
  • 40 green sphere L
  • 20 prism sphere L

Pokémon subterranean sculptures from BDSP

Once your base is constructed, you may embellish it and invite other players to visit. However, Pokémon BDSP statues—which are much more useful than the furniture—are your new option for décor in place of the furniture seen in the earlier iterations. If you're searching for Pokémon of a particular type, make sure to place as many of the appropriate statues as you can in your secret base. For instance, if you want to catch some water-type Pokémon, try placing water-type statues like Squirtle, Wartortle, and Totodile. Eighteen statues may be placed at once, and only one boost can be active at once. When it comes to boosts, the kind with the greatest value—more statues, special colored statues, etc.—will always be given precedence, so pay attention to what you put in the base to maximize the effect. There are three different kinds of statues, each with a different degree of potency.
Type of statue Where to get Effect
Standard statue Found in pretty boxes Standard boost rate
Colour statue Found in gorgeous boxes x2 boost
Legendary statue Obtained when a legendary is caught in Ramanas Park x3 boost
