How Primeape should develop

We want to ask one more question before discussing Primeape's evolution. Who is not a fan of Primeape? The generation one Pokémon is very angry and powerful, the latter of which serves as a sobering reminder that you cannot embrace a Pokémon regardless of how cuddly it may seem. Guess what, for those of you who like Mankey and Primeape? Our purpose is to explain to you the process of evolving Primeape in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Yes, a third step in this evolutionary arc is finally introduced in the Nintendo Switch game.

While we have no issue admitting that Primeape is one of our favorite'mon, if you still can't decide which to choose, our comprehensive Pokédex guide will help you narrow it down since it includes information on every species from every generation. Our articles on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gym leaders, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet legendaries, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet multiplayer are also highly recommended if you just need help with Paldea.

Alright, let's move on to Primeape's evolution.

"Who is Primeape?"

Primeape is a fighting Pokémon that is native to Kanto and may be found in different areas. Primeape, who is number 57 in the Pokédex, is one of the Pokémon from the first generation to make it into the top 100. Primeape, who evolved from Mankey, has severe anger management problems and often throws temper tantrums. It's best to avoid them at all costs.

If a Primeape wakes you up, you would best flee since it could come after you for the inconsiderate wake-up. In all honesty, we can kind of identify with Primeape on this one—after all, who doesn't feel grumpy?

Who is the evolution of Primeape?

After evolving from Primeape, Annihilape becomes a gen 9 Pokémon that can be used as a fighting and ghost Pokémon. Annihilape offers an alternative evolution path to the OG evolution gen 1 Pokémon. Since Annihilape is regarded as one of the greatest species in Scarlet and Violet, mastering Primeape's evolution is essential if you want to establish yourself as a strong competitor.

How can I develop Primeape?

Similar to some other evolutions, including Golbat, Eevee, and Linoone, Primeape cannot be evolved using standard level-up methods. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, there are two phases you must follow to develop Primeape into Annihilape:

  • Evolve a Mankey or catch a Primeape
  • Get Primeape to level 35
  • Teach it rage fist
  • Use rage fist 20 times
  • Level up your Primeape

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, where can I locate Primeape?

Naturally, you must first capture a Primeape in order to develop one. When attempting to capture a fighting Pokémon, like Primeape, keep in mind that they are often weak against bird Pokémon and flying Pokémon, as our fighting Pokémon weakness guide illustrates. In any case, Primeape first appears in these regions towards the middle of the game:

  • All across the East Province
  • Around area one in the North Province

Otherwise, you may capture a Mankey at:

  • All across the West Province
  • Around area five in the South Province
  • Around area one in the South Province
.

If you want to develop a Mankey, Primeape can only be obtained by levelling it up to 28.

In Pokémon Go, how can I develop Primeape?

Regretfully, for those of you fans of Annihilape, Primeape's evolution isn't available in Pokémon Go just yet. We'll add the necessary information to this guide if and when that changes. As with Ralts' evolution (if you want Gallade), we believe that when the time comes to evolve Primeape, you'll need to go above and beyond sweets.

Nonetheless, if you feed Mankey 50 candies, it will develop into Primeape, thus at least the first evolution in this series is simple to do. Given that Primeape is among the strongest Pokémon available, it's also a prudent decision.

That's all there is to it when it comes to evolving Primeape.
