The 2.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers a tonne of new content.

Fortunately for fans, since the game's March 2020 debut, Animal Crossing: New Horizons updates have been rolling out quickly, covering everything from essential quality-of-life bug patches to entertaining seasonal events. Since it may be difficult to stay on top of every update Nintendo releases for the game, we've gathered all the news and updates for you right here!

Your job in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is to tend to a tropical island and raise a quaint community of anthropomorphic inhabitants. Every player experiences the game in real time, and no two are alike in what they get out of it. Since its publication, New Horizons, the fifth installment in the mainstream series, has sold more than 22 million copies.

UPDATE VER. 2.0

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the most recent significant 2.0 update, comes with a tonne of new features and is being released with Happy Home Paradise, the paid DLC. Despite the update's availability, official patch notes are still pending. Thus, this is our synopsis of the most recent features.   • Brewster and The Roost now available in the Museum
  • Kapp’n can now take you to different islands
  • Harv’s Island has a new area where regular vendors like Kicks, Leif, and Saharah, can set up a permanent shop.
  • Gyroids are back, with lots of new designs to choose from
  • Item Storage can be upgraded to 3200, 4000, and even 5000
  • Many new items to unlock with Nook Miles
  • Grow crops and vegetables to make new food recipes
  • The Pro Camera App has many new camera features
  • Celeste has new DIY recipes available
  • New customisation options, including new haircuts and reactions
  • Lots of new furniture items available from Nook’s Cranny

Version 1.11.1 Update The following problems with version 1.11.0 have been resolved.
  • Fixed an issue in the DIY Recipes app where sorting by order obtained would not display recipes in the correct order.
  • Fixed an issue where color variations of certain items would not appear in the Photopia item catalog.
  • Fixed an issue where the closing time music in Nook’s Cranny would not play as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where certain seasonal clouds would not appear as intended.

Resolved problems
  • Fixed an issue from Ver. 1.4.0 where if a player used a wand to transform, then swapped their wand for another item while their pockets are full, the player would no longer be able to remove the transformation outfit.
  • Fixed an issue from Ver. 1.7.0 involving kits where a player could dig where they normally shouldn’t be able to if they change their mind after using the “Let me imagine it…” option.
To enhance the gameplay experience, further modifications and fixes were included.

VERSION 1.8.0

UPDATEUpdates in general
  • Collaboration items have been added as part of the Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary. These items can be ordered from Nook Shopping starting March 1, 2021.
  • The following content has also been added:
  • Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.
Resolved problems
  • Fixed an issue from Ver. 1.7.0 where if a User selected their own User icon from the HOME Menu followed by “Search for Users You Played With” in the “Add Friend” Menu after an online or local wireless multiplayer session, the Nintendo Switch User Nickname of the other player would be displayed under “In-Game Name” when that player was selected from “Users You Have Played With”.
  • Other adjustments and corrections were made to improve the game play experience.

Version 1.7.0 UPDATE

News in general
  • A seasonal event, Festivale, has been added.
  • The following content has also been added:
    • Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.
Resolved problems
  • Fixed an issue preventing players from receiving the mermaid fence recipe from Pascal.
  • Other adjustments and corrections were made to improve the game play experience.

VERSION 1.5.1

UPDATEThe most recent version of the game resolves many bugs that were present in Ver. 1.5.0.
  • Fixed an issue where some title keywords obtained via Nook Miles would not appear within the Passport.
  • Fixed an issue where certain messages would display in English for users playing in French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, or Russian.
  • Fixed an issue where animal residents would talk about pumpkins when given a bamboo shoot.
  • Fixed an issue where it was no longer possible to jump over a river based on the location of certain furniture.

The official New Horizons for Animal Crossing According to Twitter, you may now do responses in-game using the NookLink app on your smartphone! We've added a few more eerie responses in time for Halloween.

Version 1.5.0 Update

There's a scary Halloween event in the most recent update for Animal Crossings: New Horizons! This version also includes several bug patches, DIY recipes, and further character customisation choices. Below are the complete patch notes.
  • A Halloween event has been added.
    • Spooky character customisation options are available
    • Villagers outfits will change on Halloween night
    • Jack, the spine-chilling czar of Halloween, will make a guest appearance!
  • Pumpkins and DIY recipes using pumpkins have been added
  • You are now able to choose from a list of previously visited dream islands to travel to
  • You can favourite previously visited dream islands
  • The ability to hide items that are not for sale in Tom Nooks catalogue has been added
Bug fixes:
  • Various bug fixes have been implemented to improve play
