The iPhone 15 has arrived, and it looks fantastic.
The iPhone 15 announcement could surprise anybody who isn't closely following the tech scene. Several Apple updates, some of which are significant, are being made to one of the top 5G phones available. However, those who have been following the events are probably already aware of what they are.
The largest shift was essentially confirmed by Anker, the charging brand geared at iPhone customers, after the unveiling of their USB-C range at IFA 2023 last week. USB-C is used by the iPhone 15. Yes, the new iPhone is, at last, exactly the same as every other phone that launches these days. Lightning, the clunky, sluggish, and proprietary iPhone connector, is long gone. I'm relieved it's no longer there after more than ten years of use.The camera configuration, which now has a 48MP primary camera to match the Pro range from the previous year, is the other major announcement. As anticipated, it also has the A16 Bionic inside, however it is the same processor seen in the Pro phones from the previous year. Apple has promised "all-day battery life" as usual, but it hasn't provided exact figures.
Still, more significant alterations exist. Dynamic Island has been added to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus's design, giving the whole series a unified look. Along with a number of other fascinating improvements, there's a new frosted glass on the rear and an improved screen. Below is a video of the whole Apple event.
