In Pokémon Go, how can I get Vivillon, Spewpa, and Scatterbug?

Pokémon Vivillon is well-known for its wide variety of designs. With Pokémon Go fluttering into the festive season, you may pin postcards you get from other trainers, PokéStops, or Gyms in various locations to collect patterned Vivillon from all around the globe.

Postcards from areas that qualify may be pinned to earn the Vivillon Collector medal and advance toward sub-medals related to the original postcard region. Making progress on sub-medals results in encounters with scatterbugs, and scatterbugs from various places develop into vivillons with distinct patterns.

To begin collecting postcards and get the Vivillon Collector medal, pin a postcard and complete these steps:

  • Go to your Postcard book
  • Hit the pin icon next to one of your own postcards, or one you’ve received from a friend
  • If you pin multiple postcards from a certain region, you have a chance to encounter a Scatterbug
  • When you pin a Postcard you receive from a friend, you make progress on the Vivillon medal associated with their location
  • If you collect several Postcards from a certain part of the world, you can encounter Scatterbugs from that habitat!

To get closer to earning the Vivillon Collector award, you may pin up to three of your own Postcards per day. To complete the first sub-medal, you must gather three postcards from an area connected to a Vivillon design. Following the completion of a sub-medal, you may keep going forward to gain more Scatterbug encounters. With every tier, the quantity of postcards required to get to the sub-medal level rises.
