Many of us who began our journey to capture 'em all in Johto have a particular place in our hearts for Spinarak and Ariados, the original poisonous spiders of the Pokémon universe. Although Spinarak only really bothers you when you're headbutting people in search of a Pineco, and Ariados has never really been a competitive threat like many of the spider Pokémon on this list, there's something unadulterated about this evolutionary pair that brings back memories of link cables and Celebi rumors.

Galvantula / Joltik

Alright. Imagine a tarantula with Thor's lightning abilities, and that is essentially what Joltik and Galvantula are. One thing to keep in mind about these duo is that they each have four legs. Even though they just have a few legs, it's still quite evident from their names and designs that these two spooky crawlies are Pokémon that are related to the spider species.

Araquanid / Dewpider

My two favorite spider Pokémon are Dewpider and Araquanid, but I doubt I would say so if I were to run across one of them while swimming in open water. With its bubble helmet and lengthy green legs, Araquanid resembles an extraterrestrial more than anything else. He represents the terrifying water-born spiders that inhabit our planet. Luckily, Dewpider is as adorable as a button, so you can either squish an everstone or just press the "B" button each time it attempts to develop if you don't want it to turn into anything scary.

Spidops / Tarountula

Although Tarountula and Spidops have the same attribute of being worthless in combat, their designs are nevertheless rather amazing. Many people think that Spidops gets its inspiration from special operations troops because of its camouflage color scheme and visage resembling a night-vision mask.
