This is all you need to know about Miss Delight from Poppy Playtime:Who is Miss Delight of Poppy Playtime?
An enemy named Miss Delight makes her debut in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3: Deep Sleep. She's quite the different character from the others we've encountered thus far, mostly since Mob Entertainment completely concealed her identity and looks prior to the publication of Chapter 3, keeping us in the dark about her identity until we meet her in-game.Living at Playcare's school, Miss Delight seems to have taken over the space, to the extent that not even Poppy Playtime's CatNap seems to cross her boundaries. She initially speaks to us over the intercom, and it's obvious that she knows who we are from our previous employment at the Poppy Playtime Factory. Ollie informs us that while she seems kind at first, she is most certainly not our buddy. We learn from the cardboard standees that Miss Delight used to teach at the school, imparting knowledge on a range of disciplines, with a particular emphasis on human biology. The voicelines of the cutout also hint to the existence of numerous Miss Delights; she refers to the others as her "sisters." This is further corroborated by an end-of-game film in which multiple Miss Delights are seen to be similar.Even though we only get to see one of her up close, we can hear Miss Delight referring to her as Dawn while she's speaking to someone else over the intercom. Since Dawn is obviously not in her "right mind," it's possible that there are additional Miss Delights hidden in the school. However, Dawn may simply be talking to herself. In addition, it seems that Miss Delight leaves voice messages on a few of the VHS tapes that we come across in this chapter. She also leaves a letter on the floor that we assume is hers, which provides us with more insights into her character and intentions. We find out that at one time, CatNap just informed her that the kids were "safe" and declined to reveal to her where they were. She goes on to say that he probably wouldn't tell her where they were because he knew she would "kill them all," at which point she starts giggling hysterically. She says, "I'm so sorry," in the letter, which has an equally unsettling message even if it seems to hint to her mental condition prior to her complete transformation into the terrible entity we witness in the game. I needed to eat. I needed to make it through. I consumed them. I was forced to do what I had to do. We may assume that the statement made by Poppy Playtime’s Poppy at the conclusion of the chapter refers to the incident in which the toys consumed the corpses of the individuals they murdered during the Hour of Joy in order to live. The appearance of Miss Delight
In Chapter 3, Miss Delight manifests herself in two ways. The cardboard cutout is the first item that showcases her original look in the classic, cartoon Playtime Co. graphic style. She has a broad smile, flushed cheeks, and medium-length dark blond hair that curls outward at the bottom as shown above. She has a yellow shirt with a white collar, lace sleeves, and a red tie. Over it is a blue top with an apple on the front, and she has a red bow in her hair. She also sports an ankle-length crimson A-line skirt in the 1950s style with white polka dots and a waist-tied belt. She seems to be prepared to teach since she is also carrying a teacher's pointer stick and pointing it at the "press here" sign.Next is her actual look throughout the game, which resembles the artwork in several ways but is far more horrifying. Her skirt is ripped, exposing her rumpled white stockings and big, pointed shoes. Her hair is disheveled. Although her hands and clothing are filthy as well, her face has changed the most. Her huge smile doesn't go away, but her jaw is hanging open, showing off her enormous mouth and exposed teeth. Her arms have doll-like seams and joints, and her skin seems to have been burned off or peeled away from the area around her lips, nose, and between her eyes, revealing a crimson tissue-like substance that resembles human muscle, albeit the edges of the ripped skin resemble cracked ceramic. She looks to be devoid of eyebrows and eyelids, and her eyes are huge, dome-shaped, and unblinking, exposing both her irises and the whites of her eyes. Additionally, Miss Delight is carrying a mace that seems to be an altered version of her original pointer stick, constructed of sharp colored pencils.Playtime Poppy, Miss Delight's pursuit
The Poppy Playtime Miss Delight pursuit scenario is one of the most challenging segments of the game. After finishing an electrical circuit close to a generator, you have to flee the school while figuring out riddles and staying out of Miss Delight's clutches. You also get to see Miss Delight up close and personal for the first time.It takes some getting used to navigating the school in this pursuit, and in order to advance, you really need to figure out the right path and where to locate all the power nodes and batteries. While we work on creating a video tutorial for this pursuit, it will be included in our comprehensive Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 walkthrough. In the meanwhile, however, here are some pointers to assist you.- Grab the battery at the start – when you first connect the circuit by the generator and the sirens start to ring, back up to the doorway you came from and keep facing towards the generator. Miss Delight will enter the room and smash the generator with her mace, causing the battery to pop out. Grab the battery then run, as you need it to open the first gate
- Miss Delight can’t move when you’re looking at her – as long as you face her, Miss Delight can’t move any closer. However, she can still kill you if you get within a certain range, even if you’re looking at her. This is especially important towards the end of the chase, when you’re locked in the small room with the three battery-operated gates, so try to keep your eyes on her and walk backwards or strafe sideways as much as possible
- Look out for alternate paths – as you’re running through the halls, keep an eye out for doors and holes in the walls. These can not only offer useful shortcuts, but may also hide the electric nodes you need in order to activate the next door
- Miss Delight can open doors – don’t bother closing doors behind you, because Miss Delight can open them easily (and she can sometimes still kill you through them). However, you can use this to your advantage in that last room with the multiple shutters, as locking her in the room on the left will lead to her smashing the door open, giving you easy access to the electricity node inside without you risking the time to drag the shelves out of the way
- Once you get through the red shutter, run – after completing that room with the three shutters and passing through the final one, Miss Delight will chase you even if you’re looking at her. Run straight ahead until you can’t go any further, then look to your left to find a lever. Pull it, and you’re free!
