Poppy CatNap for Playtime

CatNap: Poppy Playtime is perhaps the scariest toy that has yet to debut in the horror series. At PT, we generally adore cats. The feline members of the squad include Raine, Xiao, Beans, Uno, Laguna, and none of them are even close to being as scary as CatNap. To be sure, Laguna does indeed scream as if the huge dangerous pink cat is after him.

Who is CatNap from Poppy Playtime?

The main enemy of Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 is CatNap, sometimes referred to as Experiment 1188. But this hideous toy was once a little child who was an orphan at Playtime Co.'s Playcare facility before he was CatNap. Even though he was human, Theodore Grambell lived at Home Sweet Home, but he didn't have a nice connection with the staff since they weren't fond of his made-up companion. The reason is because Theodore was persuaded to ruin Playtime Co. by his "friend."

Prior to the publication of Chapter 3, we offered a brief theory regarding the identity of his friend. If you complete Chapter 3's unsolvable ARG (the Leith Pierre Computer Search), you will see a drawing of Theodore sitting on a bed wearing purple with a long mechanical arm reaching out from under his bed. This led us to believe that Theodore's imaginary friend is The prototype of Poppy Playtime . We know this idea to be 100% accurate after finishing Deep Sleep, so let us to briefly recap how this relationship came to be.

History of Theodore

One day, the Prototype—also referred to as Experiment 1006—tells Theodore that he has to get a green grabpack hand and a grabpack in order to unlock Playcare's maintenance door. Since two individuals must cooperate to unlock this door, the Playcare staff assumed that Theodore's imaginary buddy had given him encouragement when they discovered him injured close to the entrance. It turns out that the youngster electrocutes himself while attempting to figure out how to utilize the grabpack, which answers your question about why the kid was hurt.

Theodore receives emergency medical attention from the staff, but the ordeal doesn't stop the small child from getting into mischief with Experiment 1006, which finally causes the team to decide to transform Theodore into one of their disgusting experiments, creating the monster known as CatNap.

It's interesting to note that Theodore wasn't the only young person the team thought about for the Bigger Buddies program, but after careful consideration, it was decided that Theodore would be the ideal CatNap subject. As a result, he took on the role of protector of Home Sweet Home, the location he once called home.

The history of CatNap

Though Playtime Co. also needed the toy to kidnap children for experiments when the time came, CatNap's primary function is to keep youngsters from leaving Playcare. It's hardly surprising, considering his function, that CatNap resided at Home Sweet Home, where he kept a close eye on the kids and used his red gas to lull them to sleep. This served his primary goal of stealing the kids.

The gas is quite powerful even if it is not fatal, creating problems for the unlucky victims. Marie Payne, the child who would grow up to be Mommy Long Legs, is one example of a person who had terrible night terrors. Although I would never support the toys' behavior, situations like these let me see things more sympathetically.

Before staff decided on Experiment 1188 for Home Sweet Home, there were two earlier tests, 1186 and 1187. This is another fascinating tidbit about CatNap. Of course, Theodore and the Prototype remained friends, but in the months after CatNap was created, Experiment 1006 treated him more like a pet and worshipped him as a deity.

Although CatNap was first seen by the team as an almost ideal toy, his interaction with the Prototype is where he falls short. I tend to agree with the scientists on this one in light of what ends up happening.

How does CatNap fit into the narrative?

Now that gamers everywhere can access Deep Sleep, we can reveal to you how precisely CatNap fits into the Poppy Playtime narrative. Since his inception, he has resided at Playcare, where he is responsible for the care of the youngsters found there. And, as we expected, he worships the Prototype; throughout the chapter, a number of persons assert that CatNap regards him as a deity.

CatNap is thus opposed to anybody who would disagree with Experiment 1006 and the evil deeds he has committed. Poppy Playtime's DogDay, who we discover in the Playhouse with his lower body gone, provides a sad illustration of his brutality, saying that "this is what he does to heretics." Additionally, we learn that DogDay is the last remaining Smiling Critter from the Bigger Buddies Initiative. It's likely that CatNap is responsible for their demise, probably ending them soon after The Hour of Joy. By the time you go to the factory, it's obvious that the Smiling Critter had passed away.

Before the major battle, you only encounter CatNap a few times. We previously believed that he would hound you throughout the Chapter, and we still feel that way. Though there are other risks in Playcare (Miss Delight from Poppy Playtime, springs to mind), it's clear that CatNap and his red gas are in charge.CatNap fully wants for you to suffer the same fate as DogDay and the other since you pose an obvious threat to the Prototype. Poppy Playtime Smiling Critters, but you flip the script on this cat and let him realize how disposable everyone is. Fortunately, you do have some friends in this region since Kissy Missy, Poppy, and Ollie assist you when they can.

The personality of Poppy Playtime CatNapCatNap is a violent and sadistic person who is strangely devoted at the same time. That means he won't stab you in the back if you're on the same side as him, but if you oppose him and the Prototype, he could just proceed to slam your head against a pyke. We're not kidding; a Huggy Wuggy head appears on one in one of the trailers. In addition, after seeing what he did to DogDay, you could consider endorsing his religion in an attempt to elude the same terrible destiny. However, since he had been a fearful child himself, he was a gentle and composed adult when it came to the Playcare kids throughout the orphanage's existence. It's really reported that he was a submissive animal with a kind side and that he took his duties quite seriously. CatNap used to be such a beautiful creature.

Appearances of Poppy Playtime CatNap

Not present in Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 and Poppy Playtime Chapter 2, respectively After what the Prototype does to him in the end, it's reasonable to assume that CatNap's appearance in Chapter 3 will be his last significant one. Because of this, we believe he may share Mommy Long Legs' and Huggy Wuggy's destiny. Nevertheless, he and other figures may show up in future papers or posters.

Is a plush CatNap available?

To demonstrate your affection for the toy, you may purchase an official CatNap plush on the Poppy Playtime website. But what you get is the cute version from the Smiling Critters TV series, not the scary one. In fact, we still find its open mouth to be somewhat unsettling.
