How to apply for the Guild of Skyrim Thieves
Located in the shadows of Riften, the Skyrim thieves guild is composed of a bunch of roguish people that want to steal from others for their own gain. Yes, that doesn't sound very pleasant, but this isn't the central government disbursing benefits, buddy. We can't be too hard on folks who must steal in order to exist in this economy since it's a necessary means of subsistence. One of the finest guild-based questlines in the game begins with joining the shifty gang, and it's quite simple to do so. It's actually more difficult to not join the Thieves Guild than it is to do so.

Here is all you need to begin your journey through the thieves guild in Skyrim.
How can I become a member of the Thieves Guild in Skyrim?
To become a member of the Skyrim Thieves Guild, go to Riften (you may get there very fast for a nominal charge by using a stagecoach) and complete the following steps:
- Find Brynjolf (in the market during the day, The Bee and Barb at night)
- Listen to his instructions to steal Madesi’s ring
- Tell him you’re ready to go (during the day only)
- Head over to the jewelry stall and open it, then the lockbox, to grab the ring
- Plant the ring on Brand-Shei
- Head to Ragged Flagon in the Ratway to chat Brynjolf again
Can I become a member of the Skyrim Thieves Guild?
Well, I'm not sure. You are not my mama. If you want to form your own opinion, there are advantages to completing the questline. Many items, particularly those that are just laying about the guild, are available for grabs, including the Chillrend sword and other sets of armor.
Along the way, you may also escape roadside robbers, save your stolen goods from being lost when you're caught, and reap a number of additional advantages. While not all of these are instantaneous or universally true, there is often a good deal to be gained.
