For the Switch, Whitethorn Games creates a stunning Metroidvania.

Whitethorn Games has recently revealed the Magical Delicacy release date, so grab your whisk. sKaule's single development effort is a cookery game infused with Metroidvania elements, including gorgeous pixel visuals and Whitethorn's signature cast of eccentric characters.

Magical Delicacy centers on Flora, a young witch seeking to develop her magical abilities. She travels to the town of Grat and opens a store to prepare food and potions for the locals. In contrast to previous cooking games on the Switch, Magical Delicacy lets you explore a secretive village while gathering ingredients and picking up new recipes.

This game is for you if you've ever wanted to play a Metroidvania game but have been a bit scared, like Hollow Knight. While Magical Delicacy is largely a culinary game with a linear story and a ton of dishes to try, exploring Grat has elements of a 2D platforming Metroidvania, including hidden powers and shortcuts that may be unlocked.

When will Magical Delicacy be available for purchase?

The release of Magical Delicacy for the Switch has been postponed until August 15, 2024. The Xbox and PC versions will still launch it on July 16, 2024. Additionally, Magical Delicacy will be available on Xbox Games Pass from day one, so you can play it on your phone or other portable gaming consoles via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
