A fan animation for Hollow Knight imagines Hallownest falling.

Hey, we all like Hollow Knight. We consider Hollow Knight: Silksong to be among the greatest Metroidvanias on the Nintendo Switch, and we're almost crawling toward its release date, whenever that may be. Fortunately, we have this incredible Hollow Knight fan animation to hold us over till further notice.

The project called Empires, which was revealed by @_Stellamarius_ on Twitter and presented by Team Carombola, is a cooperation between forty distinct animators who are exploring the depths of Hallownest. The teaser video is available to see now by clicking the clip below, but the whole film will be available to stream on December 23, 2022, at 8 p.m. GMT. But even this little peek reveals some incredible artwork, and it excites us much to see how so many fans have interpreted this fascinating universe.

This enormous project, which is referred to as a MAP (many animator project), brings together renowned talents like MEBI, Gise Animations, Purple Dragon, and many more. Because Hollow Knight's realm is intentionally obscure, exploring it is highly recommended. Naturally, it raises a lot of questions for fans, and sometimes it's entertaining to simply run with little tidbits of legend. While you wait, Hollow Knight enthusiasts may check out our guides on Hollow Knight charms, Hollow Knight Hornet, and Hollow Knight bosses. Watch the whole video below when it becomes live.
