The top Mario titles available on the Switch
It seems that Nintendo does a fair amount of things well. It has produced several well-known video game franchises, such as Metroid, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, and The Legend of Zelda. Among the well-known names in the gaming industry, Mario is the most recognizable.
Nintendo's moustachioed mascot is more than simply a cute and ingenious marketing tool. Almost every game that bears Mario's name is at least passably enjoyable. However, some of the greatest video games ever created are the best Mario games. And fortunately, there are plenty of options accessible on the hybrid system for every Nintendo Switch user.
So, we've compiled a useful list with them all. If you share our passion for Mario as much as we do, make sure to visit our guide for the most recent information about the plumber's next 3D adventure, including the Super Mario Odyssey 2 release date. To ensure you're never let down by a purchase, we've compiled a list of the best Switch games.
The Switch's greatest Mario games
Super Mario OdysseySuper Mario Odyssey, the game that concluded the Nintendo Switch's now-famous launch year, is 3D Mario at its best. You go on an epic journey with Mario's new magical companion Cappy, taking on the bodies of several machines and animals while traveling across other planets. And what a great one it is. We have a Mario Odyssey amiibo tutorial available to help if you're just getting started.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Not many games are good enough to survive on numerous systems, much less keep selling for eight years. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is exactly that. This Mario Kart game may be deemed flawless, since it has been refined over many years. With over 50 million copies sold, it is the sixth best-selling game of all time, proving that audiences agree. Whoa.
Super Mario 3D All-StarsPutting behind us all the bizarre limited-edition sales window crap, Super Mario 3D All-Stars is nothing short of a dream. Mario Sunshine and two of the greatest platformers ever created may be played on a large screen or while on the move. As our Super Mario 3D All-Stars review demonstrates, it's dreamy stuff.
Kingdom Battle: Mario vs. Rabbids
"What? Mario is armed?" You most likely exclaimed it when you spotted Mario brandishing a pistol. In an odd turn of events, Davide Soliani's fantasy of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle ultimately came true and moved him to tears at E3. Check out the touching tale for all the beautiful details. The end product is a hybrid of Mario and XCOM that includes some rabbits. Also, it's much superior to the majority of XCOM knockoffs.
Mario 3D World plus Bowser's Crusade
Super Mario 3D World is yet another excellent mainline Mario game. is the family's part of the black sheep. It's difficult to put it in one category—between 2D Mario and full-fat, camera-controlled 3D Mario. Nonetheless, since it has some of the greatest platforming out there, it is easy to appreciate. Another incredible surprise with the Switch rerelease is the inclusion of Bowser's Fury, which demonstrates the kind of brilliant concepts that may be included in future Mario games.
Mario Paper: The King of Origami
I'm always baffled by this one. When Paper Mario: The Origami King was released, it received reviews that were, well, alright. However, in my opinion, it's among the greatest Mario games available (and it's nearly certainly the greatest Paper Mario game, too). There's a lot to love about this game, including its brilliant fighting system, witty storytelling, easy-to-understand RPG concepts, and stunning artwork.
Super Mario Maker 2Super Mario Maker fulfilled many people's aspirations and is perhaps the greatest 2D Mario game ever made (technically speaking). It allows you to create your own 2D Mario levels by giving you the keys to Nintendo's most costly and ancient vehicle. It was refined, if only slightly, by Super Mario Maker 2, and since then, the community that sprung up around it has produced some of the most crazy and thrilling 2D Mario levels ever.
Mario All-Stars Super Mario
Super Mario Bros. 3 is really the greatest 2D Mario game, so include it here seems a little bit like a cop-out. Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, and 3 are combined with The Lost Levels in Super Mario All-Stars. Overall, it has so many of Mario's core components that it is an absolute must-play for all fans. Plus, it's a lot of fun, so that helps.
Sure, I could go on forever. However, I won't. Alternatively, provide someone else with our lists of the Pokémon Legends: Arceus legendaries and Pokémon Legends: Arceus' finest Pokémon. Really, you're playing Pokémon if you're a Nintendo fan, right?
