The top 2024 Final Fantasy games
Since the dawn of time, I have been an enormous fan of the best Final Fantasy games. Every moment I spend in these fantastical places is joyful, whether I chat to you about my first steps around Alexandria in IX or my love of gallivanting about on a plump Chocobo in XIV. Some of the finest games in the series are now available on Switch and mobile devices, but many of these titles were formerly exclusive to home consoles.
Here's where we can assist, offering some useful insight into the top Final Fantasy games available on the Switch and mobile platforms. Regardless of your level of experience with the series, we can assist you in selecting a quirky JRPG that is worthy of your hard-earned money.
Let's now discuss our selections for the top Final Fantasy titles available on the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
Switch & smartphone versions of Final Fantasy VII
My annual favourite game is this one. Every year, I make it a point to rewatch the original Final Fantasy VII, and the Switch version makes it really convenient. In Final Fantasy XIV, if you haven't heard of this masterpiece, you'll be playing as Cloud, an elite former soldier who teams up with a motley crew of misfit eco-warriors to defend the planet from impending disaster.
I wholeheartedly suggest this game if you like traditional turn-based gameplay, a compelling narrative, and endearing characters. The blocky PS1 visuals are the only thing that may prevent you from enjoying Final Fantasy VII. You're going to have a blast, however, if you can get over this. For additional information on the main characters, see our FFVII Cloud, FFVII Tifa, and FFVII Aerith guides.

Final Fantasy VIII – Portable & Switch
I also aim to play Final Fantasy VIII once a year, much like FFVII. This incredible game is made much better by the three-times speed and no encounter enhancements available on the Switch and mobile remasters, which are a true blessing.
In Final Fantasy XVIII, you take on the role of Squall, a dashing mercenary with a heartbreaking past who is unintentionally promoted to a high rank. This game's junction system lets you significantly alter how your squad fights, and it's a lot of fun to fiddle with.
Switch and smartphone versions of Final Fantasy IX You won't be shocked to hear that I too play Final Fantasy IX every year. Yes, this series has a little hold on me. In the beginning, FFIX has a lot more of a whimsical vibe, but it quickly delves deeply into issues of mortality and identity. The series' subsequent games often eclipse Final Fantasy IX, but if you haven't played it yet, it's definitely worth a go. You may anticipate endearing characters, a captivating narrative, and maybe even a few tears.Switch version of Final Fantasy XIt's almost a given that Final Fantasy X will make you weep. This game is perfect for fans of romantic comedies, despite the sometimes irritating voice acting. If you haven't played any Final Fantasy yet, I strongly advise you to start with X since it has an excellent fighting system, visually pleasing visuals, and an unappreciated game called X-2 that is included in the Switch edition. In case you were wondering, I do play Final Fantasy X once a year.
