Everything that was shown during the September 2023 Apple event

Surprisingly, we opened the program with Mac after seeing a beautiful movie on how Apple products foster relationships on birthdays. It highlighted customers who have benefited from Apple products, whether it be via heart alerts on the Apple Watch or emergency SOS on the iPhone. Though I am a sucker for this kind of stuff, I really found it touching. After welcoming us to Apple Park, Tim Cook lined up all the major rumors leading up to the event by promising two major announcements for the Apple Watch and iPhone. Strangely enough, he then chose to discuss Mac, giving a quick rundown of the company's releases from the previous year and a short mention of Apple Vision Pro, which is scheduled for release in the US the following year.

Series 9 Apple Watch

Tim Cook began praising the Apple Watch after giving a quick recap of the company's prior announcements. We took a plane to a dock in the middle of Apple Park to see Jeff Williams present the first real news. He unveiled the Apple Watch Series 9, which has some distinctive new capabilities but, predictably, a very identical appearance to the Apple Watch Series 8.As Deidre Caldbeck explains, the Apple Watch Series 9 has a whole new processor inside of it. The S9 processor improves the performance of the watch by 30% for the GPU and 5.6 billion transistors for the CPU. The neural engine has been doubled in power, and the device's processing of Siri commands has improved. This may be a huge help, providing better dictation and preventing slowness caused by poor internet. You can now record health data in addition to requesting it with Siri, which seems to be a significant improvement. However, this feature is listed as "available later" or something similar, which most likely implies it won't be accessible at launch. Oh, and your watch can now guide you in the event that you misplace your iPhone, much as the FindMy app does when you're trying to find your AirPods. The Apple Watch can now detect when you're close to your HomePod. If it's quiet, it will choose a song from the smartstack or start Now Playing to manage the pod.Significant increases are shown on the screen, which may reach 2000 nits and even down to one nit, improving visibility outdoors or in a movie theater. The major new feature, or huge news from Jeff, came next. Specifically, a novel motion that utilizes just your watch hand. This double tap method just requires you to touch your thumb and index finger together twice in order to answer or stop a call or to utilize it as the main button in any app. It looks very cool and reportedly utilizes the accelerometer, gyroscope, and optical sensor to identify "the unique signature of tiny movements and changes in blood flow." To find out how responsive it is, we will still need to wait to get our hands on it.The Series 9 will go on sale the following week and will be available in both the previously known original colors plus a brand-new pink hue. With several modifications and carbon offsets, it's also Apple's first carbon neutral product. The greatest environmental news, maybe, is that leather is no longer used in Apple goods as of right now.Apple Watch Ultra 2

The Apple Watch Ultra 2, a new version of the pricey and feature-rich gadget, is coming next. In addition to being lighter and more durable, this edition, as anticipated, receives the upgraded S9 processor to enhance on-device functions. We had Daniela Deschamps available to handle everything. There are several more functions in addition to those from the Apple Watch Series 9, all of which are available for the Ultra 2. The display is the brightest Apple has ever produced, reaching a maximum brightness of 3000 nits. Additionally, the altitude range is increased.Unexpectedly, watchOS 10 delivers very little in the way of notably noteworthy additions. Good news! The Ultra 2's battery life remains same, and when paired with an alpine loop or trail, it uses more recycled materials, making the device carbon neutral. Beyond the Watch SE being carbon neutral now, that is all there is to watches. The 15 and 15 Plus iPhonesFollowing a few rather dull watch announcements, Apple eventually unveiled the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, which now have the Dynamic Island that debuted on the Pro versions of the previous year. Exciting stuff. Then Kaiann Drance gave us all the information we needed to know. This is a significant first for the iPhone range as the Dynamic Island allows for edge-to-edge screen technology. The Dynamic Island elements were summarized for us; it's not that interesting, but the presentation has been enhanced, so that sounds like fun.The OLED features narrower boundaries, a brightness of 2000 nits (twice as brilliant as last year), and a slightly curved edge on the rear. Oh, and the camera bulge is colored to match the phone, and the rear glass is frosted. Outstanding. It seems that the camera is "entirely new." As reported, the primary camera has 48 megapixels with an f/1.6 aperture and a 26 mm focal length. With the use of machine learning, portrait mode may now be turned on automatically while viewing a picture of a person, a dog, or a cat. It's awesome that you can adjust the focus of the subject even after taking the picture thanks to the focus and depth adjustment features.Along with enhanced near-field communication capabilities and machine learning to enhance the quality of phone calls, there is also increased connection. Additionally, Apple unveiled a new satellite-based roadside assistance tool that enables you to seek aid without declaring a serious emergency. It is only accessible in the USA, however. With the iPhone 15, all satellite services are free for two years; however, it seems that roadside content needs a subscription. The most important one is USB-C. Apple has made the major change, as we all anticipated, adding USB-C to the new AirPods Pro, EarPods, and iPhone 15. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are available for pre-order starting on Friday, with the same pricing. The 15 Pro and Pro Max iPhonesNow for the really big one. Along with what seems to be the Action Button from the teaser film, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max now have titanium bodies—but we'll get to that later. With what Apple claims to be the strongest glass in the business, the screen now boasts the thinnest edges ever seen on an iPhone, as well as enhanced titanium and glass strength. Together with the natural titanium finish, the titanium also comes in blue, black, and white colors. And the Action Button is here, just as we anticipated. It is no longer a mute switch; it is simply a button. You can flip between a variety of operations and get haptic feedback. However, in typical Apple form, not everything can be done without the use of shortcuts. With the exception of the thinner bezels, the display seems to be quite similar, and Apple made no more announcements beyond what the iPhone 14 Pro currently has. That being said, the A17 Pro is distinct. The A17 Pro, as speculated, now employs a 3nm technology, which enhances the processor overall and brings with it a "breakthrough" increase in the GPU, according to Apple. There are the usual Apple boasts about the various features, 10% CPU increases, and twice as much neural engine performance. Also, a USB-3 controller is included, which significantly boosts speed. The GPU is the main attraction; according to Apple, it has undergone the "biggest redesign in the history of GPUs" for the business. With six cores and a 20% quicker peak performance, the new GPU also offers mesh shading to decrease power drain and enhances energy efficiency. Oh, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing is now accessible on the iPhone. Good. Additionally, Metal FX upscaling enhances gaming. A big day for players.Apple made a show of showcasing a presentation by Ubisoft about The Division Resurgence, a presentation by Hoyoverse on Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact, and a major announcement from Capcom for gamers. It's true that you can now play Resident Evil Village and the new RE4 Remake on your iPhone. The fact that Assassin's Creed Mirage, an unannounced current-gen game, is headed to the iPhone just serves to make things weirder. Naturally, as soon as we learn of any of that news, we'll cover it.We then proceeded to the cameras. The primary 48MP camera on the 15 Pro is still there, albeit it now only has a 24MP setting. Its ability to capture images at 24, 28, and 35mm focal lengths is quite remarkable. There will also be an iPhone 15 with the same focus and depth control. The primary modification is the new 5x optical zoom with 120mm focal length, which is reportedly exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It seems to provide one of the most significant upgrades to the iPhone's camera configuration in a long time, along with a sensor that can move and adjust 10,000 times per second.Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro has USB-C, which, according to Apple, provides very fast transfer rates for artists who handle big files. It may be connected to a Mac with a cable so that images or movies can be saved immediately to a Mac or storage device, allowing experts to set up a suitable workflow. The iPhone 15 Pro can now capture spatial video, which uses two cameras simultaneously to give photos dimension. Naturally, this is just for viewing it with Apple Vision Pro, so it won't be really helpful until that gadget is out. While the Pro Max begins at a higher price and matches last year's model with twice the capacity, the iPhone 15 Pro remains the same price. The latest iPhones go on sale on September 22 and can all be pre-ordered starting this Friday.
