Three enormous Roblox games vanish amid a possible DMCA conflict

Three massive anime games are said to have received DMCAs and have since vanished from the Roblox platform, causing a setback for the Roblox community. Anime Adventures by Gomu, Anime Fighting Simulator X, and Anime Fighting Simulator, both developed by BlockZone, are the three games in question.

These three games are no longer visible in searches and instead show up as "under review" or private experiences, according to information shared on Twitter by Roblox publisher and creator Gamefam Studios. As of right now, the impacted game creators have not verified or addressed the matter directly, so this is all just conjecture.

Sonic Speed Simulator and My Hero Academia Battlegrounds, an official game created in conjunction with Crunchyroll, are both produced by Gamefam Studios. Considering that MHA assets are used by the three most popular experiences that are no longer available, this is highly coincidental. Because of this, it was assumed that the studio, which was now in charge of an official MHA game, had issued a DMCA notice.

The worst part is that, despite having a low rating and few players, Gamefam's official My Hero Academia game comes up #1 when searching for comparable games on Roblox. Anime Adventures has had almost 1.9 billion visitors, to put this in perspective. Even though the game requires a subscription to access it, as of this writing, it still ranks #1 in the search.

A few developers alerted fans via Twitter that creators had only a day to make any necessary changes to any impacted game components.

This raises some concerns about what Roblox will provide in the future and if the three impacted games will remain available on the platform. Although I'm not a lawyer and don't know much about copyright rules, it seems like utilizing official materials goes too far. Nevertheless, considering how many Roblox games use this, it would be very difficult to stop them.

You can get codes for other, still-live games while we wait to see whether BlockZone and Gomu's games make a comeback. For some in-game goodies, here are all of the Blade Ball and Blox Fruits codes.
