With the Mario Kart Tour Ninja Tour, swap out blue shells for shurikens.

The Mario Kart Tour Ninja Tour is returning for another exciting season of racing mayhem, combining vintage karting mayhem with ninja-themed racers and merchandise. Still, Mario Kart Tour claims that ninjas are from Egypt, so don't plan on visiting Japan this time.

Dry Dry Ruins, a Wii favorite course, is back in the Mario Kart Tour Ninja Tour, or at least that's how it seems. The new mascot for the event, Orange Shy Guy, is at least appropriate for a sandy speedway—his mask helps keep sand out of his eyes. The little racer will be available for you to test out when the event launches on March 21.

The new karts for the Ninja Tour are the Sakura Sports Coupe, Gold Hot Rod, and Taiko Drum Dasher, which is based on the enormous Japanese instruments. Any of those karts may be combined with the brand-new Gold Boo Glider to give anybody after you something frightening to keep them from catching up.

A new tour naturally calls for a new Mii Outfit. This time, it's the Pokey Mii Racing Suit, which takes its cues from the iconic Pokey cactus that dot the Mario series' deserts. Although you are unable to push your opponent off the track, you may use this suit's banana-trio special ability to perhaps fool them into sliding off.
