Highlights from Nintendo Direct September 2022: BotW2 gets a name
Nothing beats a good Direct, and after Nintendo made it official earlier this week, a big one for September 2022 just happened, revealing some amazing new games that will be available for the Nintendo Switch around the holidays. Hopefully there was something for everyone in this series of announcements, with a ton of fantastic role-playing games to explore and a few highly anticipated sequels.
September 2022 Nintendo Direct had a few shocking announcements, beginning with Fire Emblem Engage, the next major release in the Fire Emblem series. With a brand-new setting and a fresh protagonist (see you in the next Smash game), this latest installment in the series also seems to be focused on enabling players to call upon heroes from past games to engage in timeless RPG combat.
For the most part, Yoshiaki Koizumi presented the Direct, however Shigeru Miyamoto himself made a brief cameo. The video game godfather, proudly showcasing his Pikmin Bloom collection, also confirmed the long-awaited Pikmin 4 release, dispelling rumors that it was damaged in the recent fire.
