The primary and selfie cameras of the Samsung Galaxy S25 may be identical.
Even though the Samsung S25 series debut is still quite some time away—more than half a year, to be exact—the rumors are still flying high. The most recent Samsung Galaxy S25 main camera rumor, which also pertains to the S25+, informs us that the primary and selfie cameras will be the same as on the S25, which is a letdown for photographers who like Samsung products.
The news was released by Galaxy Club, a Dutch publication. The website published a story claiming that, similar to the previous four incarnations of the device, the Samsung Galaxy S25 would include a 50MP primary camera. Additionally, the 12MP selfie camera will not change, which is much less resolution than many of its rivals, including the top Honor and Xiaomi phones models from this year.
Still, there's a chance that the S25 and S25+'s camera technology may be upgraded. The ultrawide and telephoto cameras, which are now rated as 12MP and 10MP, respectively, are now unknown to Galaxy Club. It wouldn't surprise me if this telephoto lens had a resolution increase, since this would enhance its zooming capabilities.
The rumor also states that the Galaxy S25's battery capacity will stay the same, which is unfortunate news since at 4,000 mAh, it already falls short of certain reasonably priced midrange phones. Nevertheless, it also has a lower footprint than many of them.
Upgrades to the S25 Ultra's camera should be a bit more interesting. A few weeks ago, we reported that the primary camera would retain its 200MP resolution, while the telephoto and ultrawide will equal the 5x telephoto's 50MP resolution.
As the projected 2025 debut date draws nearer, the rumors will undoubtedly intensify, and we'll be monitoring any fresh information.
